I would have to say the obvious answer would be "rarely!"

Good couple of Ryan double speak reports in the ARDG today.
This weekend Ryan lambasted Obama for beng light on Cuba, but he himself voted to end a trade embargo on Cuba. This compared to Obama who extended trade restrictions with Cuba while easing the restriction on visitation abilities Cuban/Amercans could make between US and Cuban shores.

Ryan blasted Obama for taking us down from our leader ship in space work. (That opinion is centered on the Space Shuttle retirement that was set into motion during last admin). Of course Ryan attempted huge cuts in deep space exploration, while Obama keeps the course on continued private sector investment and development (Space X) of routine earth orbit flights to Space Station.

Lots of ex shuttle engineers and astronauts employed by the public sector now instead by the government. Not exactly an good example of Obama fostering dependancy on government- which is so false on many fronts.

Paul Ryan seems to thrive on the attention he got when he found himself in congress with a bunch of dunces and he was the only one nerdy enough to have any 'facts' and figures at his command. His facts seem to rarely be correct, but he impresses his lazy co-workers nonetheless, and this must send a thrill down his spine. Maybe it was losing his dad, or maybe he was picked on as a child, whatever the reason for this need to be loved and admired by his fellow congressmen, he has shown he will do or say anything to look and sound like the best and smartest in the crowd. This need seems to extend to just about everything he does, even his bmi and his workout achievements. He's a frightening little man because he's so admired for so little. He believes himself and that's the worst kind of ill-informed goofball. I think he could pass a lie detector - he believes his own hogwash. Pathetic, sad, and frightening that he is this close to any power at all.

eLwood, a follow up on your 20 Sept 1902 article posted on Polk County Judge Anderson being found guilty of malfeasance in office.

25 September 1925 Mena Evening Star

"The trial of Judge Anderson chargd with misfeasance in office which owing to the prominence of the defendant has attracted more attention than any case coming before the present term of court, was tried this morning. The Judge was ably defended by Attorneys McPhetrige and prickett, but under the law the jury found it their duty to return a verdict of guilty. Immediately after returning their verdict however, every member of the jury signed a petition to Gov. Davis, stating that they did not believe there was any willful or malicious intent in the case and asking for the appointment of Judge Anderson to fill the unexpired term. It will only be about a month until he will enter upon his new term."

But i'll tell you what his FDA has not done is eliminate the harm from menthol in cigarettes despite the FDA advisory board's recommendation that, “removal of menthol cigarettes from the marketplace would benefit public health in the United States.”
Bad Acts, the book by Eubanks and Glantz, documents the 2006 court case that found the tobacco industry guilty of fraud is highly recommended. Unfortunately what it reveals about the Bush administration also casts umbrage over current government agencies.
