Two of the best comments on last night’s debate…

Steve Benen on the Rachel Maddow blog wrote, “After six years of campaigning for the nation's highest office, asking voters to make him the leader of the free world, the former one-term governor conveyed an unnerving message to the nation in the year's final debate: he neither knows nor cares about international affairs. As a New York Times editorial noted, Romney at times "sounded like a beauty pageant contestant groping for an answer to the final question."

And…..

Think Progress fact-checks Romney’s lies.

http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2012/10/…

A commenter wrote, “Romney was clearly out of his depth last night, and the GOP is all over themselves fabricating a win. Sorry guys, President Obama not only sunk your battleship, but stormed your ports and took your flag! He would have bayonetted your horses on the way, but he loves animals.”

Obama should trot out that snark more often.

Thanks, SP, I was just the driver on that trip to check on the loom. Susan was the navigator. I knew someone on the blog must have known them. They seem to be very gentle people and that, in my opinion, is one of the greatest compliments you can pay someone.

When we lived in NW Connectivut, we had some Quaker neighbors who also lived a very gentle life. He was a daylilly hybridizer and she was a weaver and when dogs began to bother their sheep, their neighbors banded together to take care of the problem. There aren't enough of these people in the world, outside of the Quaker and Mennonite communities.

Obama won on foreign policy debating points which surprised me since Mitt could have kicked him in the butt on Libya but chose not to.

However, commentators on CNN seemed to think that this debate was not a game changer. I think Obama's weakest point is the economy and Romney got some jabs in there. I still wish he had talked about Libya more. http://thedailyhatch.org/2012/10/22/open-l…

I'm sure that Missy has reasons for her apparent madness. Probably she harbors a passion for higher office and feels if she focuses on this she will show her constituents that she is meant for great things on the big stage and for them to get on board now. It would be nice if auditions would be very rigorous. Sorry, I forgot that's a music/drama thing.

Let’s meet at the press box elevator, west side, at halftime. And be prepared, babe: I’m gonna trip you, beat you to the floor, and love up on ya like ya ain’t never been loved on before. And bring WIES, ‘cause you’ll need assistance getting back to yer seat.

And for Pete’s sake, don’t tell nobody about our meetin’ place, Sis. Last thing we need is a bunch of people watchin’ us get it on. Would be just like that Chilson boy, the Ark. Times photographer, to be there with his cam if he knew.
PS: You betcha. Our president did well tonight. Still a tad nervous ‘bout Nov. 6, though. Wish that first debate had never happened.

What fantastic bullshit! I really can't believe my eyes & ears.....Mitt Romney is the best the Republicans can do? The lying SOB.....someone needs to tell him that outside of Utah, we all use video tape. We know what he said every day of the last 2 years, etched in stone, stored on video tape. One Republican talking head said Mitt wasn't lying about his positions, he was just flexible....FLEXIBLE!

Hell...that means Joe McCarthy wasn't a dirty low down liar....he was just FLEXIBLE. Richard Nixon, poor man....FLEXIBLE! Bush & Cheney....the FLEXIBLE twins! Rumsfeld....FLEXIBLE, Richard Pearl....FLEXIBLE.....Lance Armstrong...FLEXIBLE!

Hot damn I see how this all works! So when I was cheating on mag years ago....I was FLEXIBLE! Wonder can I be FLEXIBLE with the IRS next April? Does FLEXIBLE include touching attractive women's butts? If I pick up something at Wal-Mart tomorrow and try to walk out without playing...is that FLEXIBLE on parade?

Wow! I guess Rush & Fox News are highly FLEXIBLE and that would go for John Noozman, Tim Griffin, Boss Womack, Mike Ross, Tom Cotton, ASA!....you name it....totally FLEXIBLE, each and every one. Hmmm....was Hitler FLEXIBLE I wonder?

Psst...... Yellowdogdaughter.....wanna get FLEXIBLE with me?

What She Makes for Dinner

Posted by Andy Borowitz

BOCA RATON, Fla. (The Borowitz Report)—With just hours to go until the third and final Presidential debate, Republican nominee Mitt Romney today voiced his support “for a woman’s most precious right: to choose what she makes for dinner.”

In a bid designed to close the gender gap in the race, the former Massachusetts Governor pledged “on Day One” to give women full control over meal planning and preparation.

“Pot roast, meatloaf, duck a l’orange—as long as it’s piping hot and on the table when her husband comes home, I don’t care what a gal makes,” he told supporters.

Mr. Romney also unveiled his latest immigration proposal, which would allow immigrants to become citizens “by going to fight in Iran.”

The nominee’s campaign manager, Matt Rhoades, said that tonight Mr. Romney hopes to improve upon his performance in the second debate, in which he slipped and told the truth three times.

“That was surprising for Mitt,” he said. “But even Michael Jordan missed a layup now and then.”
