NPR interrviewed the FL Sce of State on the screw up in the election with lines that went to 1 am. They had cut the early voting from 14 to 8 days. He said that even cut, more had voted. Looking at the number, no, they didn't have more vote. They had less, throwing more to election day. LIE #1

He said that in total, fewer people had voted which actually would have indicated that he didn't do his job as that should have taken less effort. Actually the overall total was less and yet the lines went into the next day and they still have got a count 3 days later (sounds like Fayetteville!). LIE #2

Governor (we hate Democrats and real people) Scott said everything had gone fine which I guess is okay since it turns out that his screwed up state with its screwed up leadership wasn't needed which is a real step down from theri glory days in 2000. Maybe next time, they skip holding conventions down there also since the governor and state leadership (, lack of) don't seemt ogive a damn about constitutional rights.

VOTER SUPPRESSION, THY NAME IS REPUBLICAN!

The vote supression efforts will only guarantee that I will move heaven and earth to vote. My vote does count even if posted for a losing candidate, if only to serve as a raised middle finger to those who who happily take that right from me if they could.

I missed this pre-election column by Harold Meyerson in the WaPo. It's a warning to the repubs about their future. Demographics are heavily against them nationwide and will be in future Arkansas.

"By repeatedly estranging minorities and opposing social policies favored by the young, the Republicans have opted for a King Canute strategy: standing on the shore and commanding the tide to stop."

'...they must try to either accommodate the future or suppress it."

As Max noted, voter suppression efforts have a way of backfiring. Are you listening Bryan King? It is so galling to have to say he is my state senator.
