This statement is astonishing: "I only go to the Doctor when I absolutely need to."

How do you really know if something is life or health threatening? I sure don't. In fact, most of the life threatening things, like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and other problems, do not appear to be a problem until it's too late to do anything about them because they don't hurt.

That's the problem with co-pays, and other charges that make people think they shouldn't go to the doctor because they can't afford it. It puts them in a position of trying to figure out if THIS is something that should be taken care of, when doctors go to school for years to learn how to figure that out.

For instance, cancer usually is painless for a long time, up and until it starts shutting down organs. Then it's far too late. A small lump doesn't seem like much, does it, until it spreads.

Expecting people to self-diagnose problems is expecting people to have extensive medical knowledge. Totally unrealistic.

Just one of the many reasons for moving from ACA to a single payer healthcare system(i.e., like Medicare for all citizens). I constantly ask myself the question; If we are the greatest nation in the world, why can't we figure this out like 37 other industrialized nations have? Are we not smart enough? Folks, we are the richest nation in the world and yet we have some of the poorest outcomes in health care in the world., while spending twice as much per capita as the next closet country. What's it gonna take?

You are aware that the ACA sections affecting Medicaid haven't kicked in yet and you are also aware thart Governor Beebe can't do anything in a fiscal (that means money) without the know-nothings in the ReTHUGlican Party agreeing because of the 75% requirement of the Constitution for fiscal matetrs (remember from previous line that "fiscal" means money). They are so proud of how their hero J. Thurston Romney did in the election. They would come out ahead and actually seem to be "christian" but that is all talk in this state and doesn't show up in their actions.

Arhogfan, quit buying into the 1% argument for not paying any taxes and start reading. This state's overall tax burden is in the middle of the state's since you can't just count the income tax as different states raise their taxes in different ways. And if we are so high taxe, how come Governor Goodhair had to use $20 million in that hated President Obama stimulus to balance his budget even after cutting off the poor in every way he could and firing 100,000 teachers. It is amazing how many people can watch FAUX noise all day and still think they have any knowledge of what is happening in the world. BTW, it isn't true that Coumbus' 4th ship, the Irving, fell off the edge of the world and was devoured by dinosaurs.
