Don't know about HHW, but on my recent visit to The Rock, I made it to the Packet House. TWICE! More, momentito.

But first, I must apologize to all my Razorbabies for not pre-announcing my visit. With limited time, and invitations to stay with my closest and dearest, it's incumbent upon me to avoid being inundated with requests for personal appearances, then having to decline so many beloved RBs.

I've had to eschew inundations on subsequent visits to The Rock ever since my all-too-brief stay there a few years back.

This trip, I managed to visit Crystal Bridges for two days and it is everything one has heard, and more. Moshe's architecture alone is drop-dead, breathtakingly brilliant. As is everything he does. Alice knew what she was doing.

The interior spaces are equally brilliant. Completely welcoming, spacious, subtle, non-intimidating and perfectly suited for showing off the collection which, frankly, surprised me. Displayed chronologically, the works are fascinating, eclectic and terrific representatives of their periods. Absolutely enchanting, really! Thoroughly worth the two days I spent there.

And the Crystal Bridges staff are top-notch all the way. Warm and friendly, and knowledgeable.

Can't wait for another visit!

And the Packet House? ANOTHER winner! I am so seldom wrong about anything that, despite misgivings when I first heard Wes planned to spend $1M plus to try yet another restaurant in this location, I'm overjoyed to predict a long happy life for this thrilling, unique addition to Le Petite Roche.

The bar area recalls the best insider watering holes in D.C., L.A., N.Y., S.F., et al. Beautifully done (avoids trying to recreate an antique period atmosphere, thank god), low key but sophisticated. And again, unbeatable staff. The bar area alone instantly became my favorite place to schmooze in The Rock. Stellar.

Jammed with soigné young Rockians. Flatteringly lit. (The other rooms were dotted with some over 50s).

I fit right in.

No idea about prices since I never pay for myself at these venues.

Can't wait to EAT something, next time.

Think Franklin would come if asked. Hear his buyout is only $4 mil.

Fayetvle TV pundits are saying it's either Grundy or Patterson. Not a soul has mentioned Strong but if I'm by their coffee house in the nxt 2 days I'll say "There's this savvy chic in L.R., a real devout fan, who says that Strong's the main man."
