Sound Policy, (and radcen if you are interested). Here's a report from Juan Cole. He is a mideast expert, has lived there a lot of years, and has friends on the ground in Egypt. Added bonus is it's in English so you don't have to put it through google-translate.

http://www.juancole.com/2012/11/egyptian-l…

Reading between radcen's lines, it seems he is hoping for a failure of the Egyptian revolution so he can have an Obama/Clinton "policy failure" to crow about. It is really rather sad to contemplate rad's mind.

Things aren't over in Egypt. If you recall our own history, we had the Articles of Confederation which didn't work out, so it was back to the drawing board to produce the flawed constitution. I say flawed because it took a civil war and 600,000 deaths to correct part of it.
You make breathless, sweeping announcements about Hillary's legacy being the Muslim Brotherhood in control in Egypt. Then you cite an old post of mine as proof? Weak sauce you are stirring up there, dude.

"Radical, It's too soon to speculate on election outcomes. The Muslim Brotherhood probably can win no more than 20% of the electorate. The Arab Spring in Egypt is driven more by younger, educated Egyptians who want a secular government. Yes, the brotherhood will try to hijack the process, but their success at that is not certain. rc, what a laughable, radical statement. Every thinking person was fully aware the Arab Spring was going to have a life of its own and could not be controlled by the U.S. or anyone else.

It may take a few years, e.g., Iran, but sooner or later the US pays the price for how it operates in the world and trying to pick the winners and losers (and sticking military bases where we want to by bribes to the "right" people).

cbb - Re: "Murbarak could have used his army and mowed down 1 million people in the square but that seems a little anti-democracy but that isn't really your argument, is it, rc. You don't like the administration and anything that they do is suspect."

Actually, I'd be delighted if Obama Administration could improve the situation in the Middle East, but instead, the whole regional policy is in shambles, and the Camp David Accords are at risk. The opposite of your statement is more truthful: you're willing go along with any idea out of this administration, no matter how brainless it is.

Obama and Hillary thought that the Arab Spring was going to be like Woodstock or something. Their ignorance and naivety about M.E. policy is mind-boggling and dangerous to the national interests of the U.S.

Hillary's legacy will be the installation of the Muslim Brotherhood dictatorship in Egypt. And Petraeus won't be around to take the fall again for another State Department disaster.

The Welsh part of me makes me DAR eligible, but I don't think that would fit--conscripted Redcoats, they went awol and fought for the colonies. My great-grandfather from Little Scotland in New York, was part of the Iron Brigade except for the year he spent recooperating from wounds in the other "War".
