Little Rock, AR-On January 31, Pulaski County Justice of the Peace, Tyler Denton was willing to vote yes to spend $20 million tax dollars during the PC Quorum Court meeting last night for the construction of the new Broadway bridge that will be coined “America’s Bridge”. The money coming from Pulaski County will be not for the bridge itself, but for cosmetic purposes and lights to make the bridge a “fancier” memorial to veterans. However, Justice Denton doesn't really seem to be in support of the colors red, white and blue which are the colors of our American Flag.
Mr. Denton was quoted in today’s Arkansas Democrat-Gazette saying, “I am adamantly opposed to the red, white and blue color of the bridge.” Mr. Denton represents the Heights District 2 on the Quorum Court. Though considered a liberal area of Little Rock, many believe that the citizens that live in the Heights would adamantly support our veterans. Many citizens have been vocal on social media sites in opposition to the bridge. For instance, the Forbidden Hillcrest Facebook page had more than 200 comments in regards to the bridge; most were in opposition. A student from Estem charter school, located downtown near the bridge, asked to address the court last night and suggested that instead of using the $20 Million to create a memorial to veterans, why don’t we do something for the veterans themselves?

I don't care if it's replaced w/2 dixie cups and a string. I'm unconcerned about the look, the view, the details. I'm concerned about he AHTD's 'up yours' decision to re-route 22,000 cars a day for TWO YEARS past my front door in order to achieve it. And what's worse, it's TOTALLY UNNECESSARY. Not the new Bridge, clearly Ol' Broadway is in bad shape, but the concept of building the replacement bridge ALONGSIDE the old one, and keeping the old one workin' til the new one is ready IS OBVIOUS..it's COMMON SENSE..it's CHEAPER..it's FASTER...it's SAFER. And the Arkansas HIGHWAY and transportation Dept. says screw it to ALL THAT. Good luck commuters, burning $3/gallon gas for the next two years, both inbound and outbound, EVERY DAY...just remember, it didn't HAFTA be that way!

Second scene is at the Sherwin Williams paint store. Judge is asking Joe how much bridge paint he can buy for $20 million dollars. Joe alias “Joe the Plumber” is now “Joe the Painter”. Joe figure out there is allot more money is painting than plumbing. See the Judge and Joe has figured out the system. Too bad the taxpayers haven’t.
