That may be the way it looks to Mr. Lyons from Perry County, but Republican opposition is only part of Miss Rice's problem. Her real problem is the opposition of several Democrats in the Senate, who say they are wary of her temper tantrums and doubt she has the judgement and self-discipline to be an effective secretary of state. Better John Kerry. Even if Mr. Lyons' fanciful recitation of the Benghazi incident is correct, Benghazi is not as important as the back story.

Interesting how the big four media outlets have been totally Foxified since 9/11 with 8 years of Rove's ear-twisting and threats, Bush-Cheney's media consolidation schemes.

It's useful to keep in mind that from assistant producers to the shows' top celebs they all got in on the Cheney tax cuts for the wealthy.

So thankful for the internet. There's hope for the Republic and the First Amendment.

Let's try not to forget Romney's political hijack of this tragedy as the fires were still burning. I believe Rice's high-profile 5-show circuit would not have happened, or would have been far less notable - and hence, uncontroversial - if not for the need to respond to Romney's craven, despicable political attacks.

Pierce has a fine rant up about the media elite---related to how they suck up to the oligarchs.

"There is not a single bit of "shared sacrifice" that is going to fall too heavily on Willard Romney. There is not a bit of "shared sacrifice" that is going to fall too heavily on David Gregory, either, or on Jon Meacham, or Andrea Mitchell, or Sean Hannity, or my man Chuck Todd. In the way we fight our wars, and in the way we conduct our politics, and in the way we run our economy, and in the way we function as a political commonwealth, we are now at the mercy of people who propose and enact policies for the rest of us under which they never will have to abide. Our elites are now a universe of chickenhawks and every issue out there is Vietnam. This is not a healthy state of affairs."

http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/dist…

We have been so busy watching the farce that is Fox News, that we fail to see the failings of the MSM in general. As a rule, I don't think journalists should be hobnobbing with the people they cover. Oh, for the days of ink-stained wretches who did their jobs.

With a few exceptions (Lyons, etal) most of the nationally known pundits and reporters in the media class are not worth a bucket of warm spit.

My favorite media pile-on was that of Rep. Gary Condit who on 9/10/01 was very close to being convicted by the media of the murder of Chandra Levy. Of course, as we all know, Rep. Condit somehow orchestrated the following day's events that threw everybody off his trail. You gotta admire that kind of resoucefulness.
