Daniel, I don't know how long you've lived in Little Rock so you may not know it, but there was a Papa Johns in the Heights that closed a few years ago. It was on R street next to The Toggery in the plaza where Hestands was too. That is why I'm confused they are coming back.

Really? Papa John's in the Heights?! Just what we don't need up here. I'm with Walker on the other options for pizza in the area.

Heights cafe still has the sign saying closed for "updates" but my guess is that it is closing for good. It never seemed to decide what "style" of restaurant it wanted to be, and the parking is practically non-existent.

I wish a good Indian restaurant would come to this area, and think the old Hestand's would make a great place for one.

Would someone who frequents these food trucks suggest they come over to the Heights/Hillcrest area on some days? Hard to drive all the way out beyond 65th Street at lunch time. I can't imagine their not doing a huge business given the large number of people who work in this area. The Park Avenue, Tanglewood or Riverdale areas would have lots of space in which to park.

I've written before about Taqueria Karina, at the western end of the shopping center at 65th and Lancaster. Went there Monday because I was totally bummed Local Lime was closed, and the wife and I were hankering for Mex. Went back yesterday with two friends who didn't know about it. Fact is, TK serves the exact same style tacos as LL, except they are $1.25 vs. $3.75 at LL. Small, fresh corn tortilla, fabulous meat (between us we had lengua, pollo, pastor, carnitas and whatever is Spanish for steak), topped with diced onion and lots of fresh cilantro. Same fabulous made-on-the-spot guacamole for $3.50 vs. $8.50 at LL. Smooth white cheese dip for $3.25. A served-warm fresh salsa that is complimentary. Great chips. Whole meal cost the three of us $14.25 plus tax and tip. You can't eat at Wendy's for less than $5 a head. Rent way cheaper, clientele not "monied" but food just as good. Yes, I'll be back to Local Lime, but I'm telling you the same fabulous tacos and guac can be had for one third the price on 65th Street.

Here's a question: do you think the Height's neighborhood can sustain the new Papa John's that is going in there? Drove by a store front at the corner of Club and Van Buren with their sign hanging outside.

My take- if I'm going to order delivery, I'd order Damgoode. If I would want to pick up pizza, I'd get Damgoode or Zaza. Both have salad and better pizza options. And when I just need cheap, fresh pizza, I'd go to Little Ceasars. So I guess I don't need a new Papa John's in the neighborhood.

Cecil, we went for breakfast at Route 66 last weekend, and were pleased. I had scrambled eggs and hash browns (which are really home fries), and Mr. Mordy had biscuits and gravy. The biscuits seemed to be from scratch, but Mr. Mordy said the gravy was not. The home fries were excellent, with bits of onion adding a nice kick. Strangely enough, they don't have as a meal what I think of as the classic diner breakfast: eggs, meat, hash browns (or grits) and a biscuit. You can assemble this breakfast from their "sides," but it's easier to just order that as a meal, IMO. I remember the following on the menu: chicken and waffles, monte cristo, pancakes, oatmeal and french toast.

I've never been much of a fan of Ozark Mountain (service can be rude and food is sometimes subpar for the price), so I'll take Route 66 over it any day.
