I was terribly saddened when it closed; I was shocked and ELATED when I read it was coming back under ownership of the same family. I'm happy the menu has been expanded to meet the needs of more diners with veggie and gluten-free options. I cannot wait to visit and sink my teeth into a pretzel.

Editorial: The year 2012 has brought to phoenix-like rebirth two restaurants that hold important places in my sentimental memory. Mr. Dunderbak's is one and The Packet House (Grill) is the other. When I visited the reopened and revived Packet House earlier this year, I literally got choked up. I won't be surprised if the same thing happens when I visit Mr. Dunderbak's.
