      <![CDATA[As sort of an aside to this article, I saw an earlier comment on the Times that it may be pushing for cameras in courtrooms.  As a lawyer and part time judge, I am opposed to this for basically the reasons outlined in the above article.  <br>
<br>
When the lawyers and judges in a trial get a chance to be television celebrities, you get an O.J. Simpson trial that lasts for months.  That case would have been tried in a week in any Arkansas courtroom.

      <![CDATA[Also, those reporters in their pursuit of celebrity status are becoming too distant from the people-the everyday American citizen-they should be reporting to.  They are elites, covering the elites, and spinning it in favor of the elites and certainly in favor of infotainment sans the info.<br>
