Well, I've seen and heard enough. The party in the majority in state house and senate has dropped the facade of wanting to govern responsibly. It seems from their actions and words that the ultimate goal is to turn Arkansas state government into their own private fiefdom with the rest of us being cast in the serf role. I have it on good authority that a new dress code will be forthcoming: tattered robes and sandals while new recipes for gruel will dominate the Wednesday demwannbeGAZ. Pinto beans will become enshrined as the magic elixir of life. The resulting gaseous cloud over the state will replace the skunk population.

What some folks either do not fully grasp or want to ignore is if you add 100,000 people to the roles of any program paid for by the feds, then five years later when the state has to pick up the tab, you cannot drop those 100,000 people depending on the service from the roles, ergo the state then has to pay the cost. With a balanced budget rule where do you think the additional revenue is going to come from? Maybe add dental to the service, save all extracted teeth and the tooth fairy can pay Arkansas a visit.

It appears that Neal's Cafe in Springdale has become the hotbed of Republican radicalism in Northwest Arkansas. I just mention that fact for any Democrats out there who might be tempted to stop there.

No need for me to comment, Max and eLwood summed it all up....nothing but bullshit ahead of us since not even those calling themselves Democrats in Arkansas have any workable ideas or interest in make our state better.

I keep thinking of a thread the other night where Eureka pointed out it's the Democrats fault that Arkansas has been a Right To Work state since 1944. Then our Democratically control legislature doubled down on Right to Work in 1947 making sure it's always low low wages in the 48th in everything state.

This Spin & Marty looking Republican and his 51%ers will work to come up with even worse ideas than Right To Work as they bumble thru the next 2 years, holding allegiance to dead old Ronald Reagan, a man so great his own children wouldn't talk to him and Rove & Norquist who still want to whip some 1994 on us. We're in for a hard 10 years and the answer to the question: Is our Republicans learning? Is NOOOOOOOOO!

Davy gets fried yesterday in Chickenopolis addressing Washington County Repubs at
Neals Cafe...

SPRINGDALE — Republican rank and file expressed strong dissatisfaction to state House speaker-elect Rep. Davy Carter, R-Cabot, at a meet and greet Thursday at Neal’s Cafe in Springdale.

“It’s the law of the land, it’s been through the Supreme Court, and Mitt Romney got beat,” Carter said when asked whether the Legislature was going to implement federal health care reform. Carter spoke for almost an hour with about 30 people, mostly Republicans, at the Springdale restaurant. He took questions in an open forum, then met with attendees one-on-one afterward.

Stopping the implementation of “Obamacare” is why Republicans have a 51-seat majority in the 100-member House, said Valerie Biendara of Fayetteville. There are parts of the law that the Legislature can stop, she said, such as expansion of Medicaid.

“The reason you have a majority is for you to reject it outright, and what I’m hearing is that you’re going to work with the Democrats and ‘We’ll see,’” Biendara said.

“If we say ‘No, no, no’ to everything,” Carter said, “the federal government will do it themselves and do it over us.”

Sharon Lloyd of Springdale, chairwoman of the Washington County Republican Women, challenged Carter’s decision to keep former Democratic lawmaker Bill Stovall on the legislative staff and to hire a former Democratic Party executive director, Gabe Holmstrom of Cabot, as his chief of staff.

“Do you think no Republican is smart enough to do that job?” Lloyd asked.
......
Rep. Charlie Collins, R-Fayetteville, told the group conservative issues would be fully addressed. He will introduce a bill to allow concealed carry permit holders to keep their guns on college campuses, he said. There will be a bill regarding “fetal pain” that will restrict abortions, he said. There will be legislation on school choice, he said. But these are fights for representatives and the House Majority Leader to carry forward, Collins said.
