There is no requirement that either the Attorney General or Supreme Court Justice be a lawyer.

Quote of the Year snipped from a story on the failure of Boner's Plan B:

Representative Steven LaTourette, a moderate Republican who is retiring at year's end, told reporters that Thursday's legislative defeat - and public relations failure - will not stop Boehner from being re-elected House Speaker on January 3. "Name one member who opposes him," LaTourette challenged reporters.

Firing Boehner, LaTourette said, would be "like saying the superintendent of the insane asylum should be discharged because he couldn't control the crazy people."

On a separate note- can anyone tell me how the 'Plan B Emergency Abortion Pill' was going to be of any use to Boner and the THUGs?

I was poking around on the Arkansas Judiciary website, and learned something new to me.

It turns out that Hillary Clinton's law license was suspended on 03-14-02 over the continuing legal education rules -

"SUSPENDED – CLE NON-COMPLIANCE"

https://courts.arkansas.gov/attorneys/atto…
I don't recall that has been reported before.

It's not a big problem for her since she quit practicing the profession decades ago, but it would have been better to take voluntary inactive status.

The suspension of Bill Clinton's license ended years ago, but he has never applied to have it reactivated -
Well duuuh! If God hadn't wanted us to eat them, He wouldn't have named them meal worms. We all need to get back to the Bible.

Well, Louie, I'm still waiting for these good people to tell us a good replacement for coal fueled generators. I haven't heard that yet. Perhaps they will suggest bringing the Japanese over and build a grand nuclear powered energy plant of some kind. Oh, well, these new electric cars need their plug ins furnished by some power plant. Bet it will be coal fueled, don't you?

Boehner's "Plan B" didn't even get the support of his own party, so he has pulled it from a vote. The House is in recess until December 27. Now, it appears that we will go over the cliff, which many of us here think will be a good thing--a wake-up call to the Republican Tea Baggers. It is important that President Obama beat them decisively in this battle. If he does, it may put them out of business for good.

I'm with DBI. Let's go over the fiscal cliff. It keeps playing over in my head to the tune of Let's all go the lobby. It's either that or Don't sit under the apple tree. Not really sure which. Maybe it's a hybrid, but yes. Let's go over the fiscal cliff. The Bush tax cuts were passed with a 10 year expiration date and need to go. The cuts to defense won't happen any other way. And somehow I think that's been the plan all along, and that way the Republicans can keep up with the finger pointing and temper tantrums.

Think you nailed 2 people with one blow, Vanessa. Linda Tripp was Monica's friend and the Palin's have a kid named Trip I believe...or is it Bolt Upright? Who really cares?

I would nail and would have nailed Monica too, I think. But only a man who was brought up in the Baptist church can understand that a blowjob isn't sex. I don't expect any of the rest of you to understand it, but I sure do. McDaniel would do well to insist that a blowjob is all he ever got from Sweet Thang....it would keep him in the Gov. race by retaining the Baptist vote, ya know.

The House just went home without voting on Boner's Plan B which he's modified to a 2 part deal with one of the parts being held off for a year. I don't want anything held off for a year....let's have it all now or OFF THE CLIFF! The Senate and Obama have both said they aren't going for any part of Boner's Plan B, so we're safe though I hate to see all the time wasted.

DC has decided to take a page from the World Series and go to the very last game before someone wins. It's just like Dancing With The Stars or Survivor...milk milk milk it all out to the very last minute and make it a big cliff-hanger so we'll tune in next season. Screw that!

I think OFF THE CLIFF is the best idea anyway. It would knock America back to the Clinton years when everything was fine and dandy unless you lived in a compound in Waco. Plus it will starve the military so badly Obama will have to bring the troops home from Afghanistan way before 2014. I'd swallow anything that would end our bloody wars for oil as soon as possible.

We've been wallowing for years. I'm hoping Obama plans to spend the next four years making fast amazing changes to fix the things that have been making life miserable for everyone without their own Lear Jet. Time to flush the GOP down a bus station toilet. Time to de-hobby the Gun Nuts. Time to frog-march a lot of bankers to prison. Time to tax the bejesus out of American companies who've moved our jobs off shore. Time for gay marriage in 50 state and the legalization, regulation & taxation of marijuana. Stop the wars and tax pot and there'll be no deficit in the not too distant future!
