We disagree w/ the reviewer. Went for husband's birthday and enjoyed it so much we thanked the chef on the way out. Our apps (chili and gnocchi) were delicious. Main courses were braised beef (huge tender portion) w/ cheese grits and duck w/ waffle, were also very good. We will be back.

I had high hopes for this restaurant as it promised something not available in Little Rock. Sadly I agree with the reviewer, Mordy and ArkansasGirl. I've eaten there twice, both times for dinner. I was not overly impressed with the first. We went the second time hoping that the first was an aberration. Unfortunately the second was not an improvement.

We ordered the over-priced soup and the portion was so skimpy that it barely covered the bottom of the bowl. Like the reviewer my dining companion ordered the trout brandade and found it dry and in need of a sauce. I had the rib "steak" which was a beef rib with a hunk of meat on one end. It was tasty but at $23 more meat would have been appreciated. In addition the side dish listed on the menu was no where to be seen. For desert the Pavlova was a joke, just a cookie with a lot of whipped cream on top. No bread was served and the wine pour likely was small enough to get 7 or 8 glasses out of a bottle.

One last thing, well maybe two, I generally like open kitchens where you can watch professionals at work. The crew at Natchez was having way too much fun talking and joking around. In addition the place needs a better ventilation system as the cooking odors can be obnoxious. I wish the restaurant well and if it's still there in a few months, perhaps we'll give it another try.

Had lunch with two friends there a few weeks ago - and all three of us were tremendously disappointed! Even the salad --- not a tomato or veg to be seen outside of the field greens... I can do better than that at Kroger.

I hate to say that the trip I made there had me agreeing with the reviewer. My appetizer of shrimp and brussel sprouts (2 of my favorite things in the world) was underwhelming. Boiled shrimp and steamed brussel sprouts make for a pretty blah dish. There were supposed to be pecans (which would have given the dish some much needed crunch), but the few bits I found had gotten soggy. Some bacon or panchetta would have gone a long way towards making it a better dish. I had the trout, and completely agree with the reviewer - it needed a sauce.

However, I had bites of my husband's dishes (the gnocchi and a braised beef rib), and they were much better than my choices. I want Natchez to succeed, so we'll be back to give it another try.

I have been to Natchez several times and every meal I have had there has been outstanding.

My one lament is that they do not do a cup of soup, your choice is a bowl or nothing.
