The link is to L.A. Times columnist George Skelton. It is a paean to his late wife who was a Christmas-loving atheist even though he is a believer. Love can transcend that difference.

I share her love of the Christmas season. Whether you think the Christmas story is myth or fact, it really is the best story in the Bible in my opinion. Imagine! A baby born to bring peace and goodwill. To help us stop our warring madness. To light the way out of the winter darkness of our souls. It's not his fault that we have failed to heed that message.
