Drinking alcohol is a major sin in the Mormon (LDS) Church. And that's a far cry from driving under the influence. Senator Crapo will almost certainly have to resign his bishopric (bishop prick?) in the wake of this revelation. It may even doom his re-election chances in heavily Mormon Idaho.

Drunk driving is such a serious matter. Just a few months ago a family friend, Billy Penn, left a Wednesday night service at the church where I grew up in Memphis and he drove less than a mile away and was killed by a drunk driver who was driving on the wrong side of the road. Since the driver was driving on the wrong side of the road for over 1/2 mile many cars had jumped the sidewalk to avoid him but since Billy was in his 70's and his reactions were slower he was killed.

The young man had just been dumped by his girlfriend and he went out and got drunk. In the past he had been a good kid and had not been a drinker. This shows that we should not compound our problems by drinking. Now a family friend is dead and a good young man is facing years in prison.
I'm going to propose a grassroots movement to recall/replace our entire congressional delegation. All of them! We elected them to go to Washington, D.C. to become part of the solution and in fact they have ALL become part of the problem. Maybe not for what they're doing, but certainly for what they're NOT doing. The Arkansas delegation if proving entirely ineffectual. I think Arkansas could take the lead in this movement begun by people sick to death of the partisan bickering while the country is being flushed down the toidy.

It's ultimatum time for our delegation in D.C.: either get to work fixing this or perhaps your replacement will be able to act. If enough states adopt this approach I think we will be able to reverse the helpless and hapless situation in which the majority of the country presently finds themselves.

I say bring them all home and let's send some replacements to get the job done. If they can't do it then we'll send more until we find a delegation that will actually work for the good of their respective constituencies. If enough states do this then we, the people, can really take back the country while there's still something to take back from those who seem to care little that the survival of the country and our way of life is at stake.

I thought Mormons were not allowed to drink alcohol???? How can he continue as a bishop in his church if this is proven true? I'm sure he'll continue in his role as Senator b/c we're not supposed to judge ReTHUGlican's on personal issues, right. Their hypocrisy never ceases to amaze me. Maybe Huckabee can soon get on TV and tell us all how it was God's will for this guy to drink and drive.

He is a ReTHUGliocan so moral failings, while stating belief in "family values", is to be expected. All talk but with a great message system, their own TV network, FAUX, and in this state, the so called "state-wide nespaper".

I'm wondering which (if either) will be a bigger problem for Sen Crapo - DWI or drinking at all?
