Well.... we tried to make some snow ice cream - with a little bit of snow, some vanilla extract, milk, rock salt, and a little sugar! Fortunately we have electricity, although we've been harboring a few people who don't. It has been so hard to find milk in town! My husband is able to get out and about, but the lines at the grocery stores have been extremely long around WLR!!

Thanks for mentioning our little blog - we love Eat Arkansas! And thanks to you too Kevin! I hope you're all staying warm!

I hoped with people trapped inside that I might get the recipe from someone in the know. I think the Bread Basket was owned/run by several people in the Hillcrest/Heights area. Fond memories of lazy summer evenings.

Several years ago we used to enjoy driving way, way out west (beyond even Chenal) on Hwy 10 to the Bread Basket. It was pretty basic but excellent food and nice folks. I have been trying to get the recipe for one my favorite dishes there....and have gotten close and several promises. Still no recipe. Any one have the recipe for their hominy enchilada? So, so good. Thanks.
