1st Electric is not giving any answers, we have seen two workmen in the last two days. They came by and moved a limb on the line behind the house across the street. They moved it to the middle of the line and left it hanging over road to fall on someone's car. I sound like a broker record I have said this so much, but if they had kept the right of ways clear like they used to the problem would not quite so bad. We are one of four houses without power surrounded by many with power. There are no updates other than maybe everyone will have power by Friday night. Bet the CEO is nice and warm today.....

I wrote the tractor the mile down the road backwards from my drive to the nearest cross road dragging the scoop to open a cut and found only 3 tress down and blocking parts of the road. Came back up the road foreward, widening the path and squaring some of the swerves that you get with the tight steering on the tractor. That was an hour ago and my temp is now 36 so we (Tiny the wonder dog) and I are going out again and widen it further and see about pushing some trees to the side.

Sorry Z., these are mostly old cedars so their isn't much usable firewood although I do have a lot stacked around from prior tree falls and I don't have a wood stove. I also have 3 trees down along the road that are substantial that I thought the firemen were coming back to cut after they cut me a way through it. If you are looking for wood and willing to cut and load your own except for that already stacked, let me know. We should be able to work out a time.

I was a feared that work would be slow the week after Christmas, but Santa brought me a shiny new power outage to play with. Burned up all my firewood last night; if I can’t get my lights on today I may have to fight with my neighbors for the downed tree branches. I’ll try to get back to spreading hate & discontent when I get a chance, enjoy yourselves until then.
Well, Saline, bow 3 times to southern California and continue your data which shows that statistics can lie. Take out the Bush depression and government spending hasn't risen. You destroy the economy and you win points with Saline. And don't forget all those tax increases Ray-Gun had. He couldn't be elected dog catcher in today's Republican party. I guess in Saline's world, lose your job to Bush2, your house to the Wall Street Power Guys, and you can starve to death in his "christian" America.

We are better than that, far far better than that and note that the phrase "general welfare" in primary to all of the love my ghun stuff. It is interesting that all of those citing the Constitution for their gun rights can't get the entirte phrase right. A look at a blog site last night had 80% hate mail from gun nuts and all who quoted the Constituition, left out the part of the phrase about a militia. See that makes a big difference in what the SCOTUS should have said but wouldn't because they are lap dogs to the NRA just like the rest of the GOP.

What was Reagan's legacy? I answered that today with this:
Recently I read, “President Reagan’s action in firing the striking workers was controversial. The strike and subsequent firing of these workers resulted in cutting roughly half the scheduled commercial flights on the first day of the strike, and the airline industry lost substantial revenue… The air-traffic control system continued to function. Most Americans supported President Reagan’s actions. Internationally, the Soviets paid close attention to this incident and were struck by President Reagan’s resolve and decisiveness.”
Concerning Reagan’s performance in spending and taxing. Dan Mitchell of the Cato Institute commented:
In a post last week, I explained that Obama has been a big spender, but noted his profligacy is disguised because TARP outlays caused a spike in spending during Bush’s last fiscal year (FY2009, which began October 1, 2008). Meanwhile, repayments from banks in subsequent years count as “negative spending,” further hiding the underlying trend in outlays.
Reagan 0.5%, Clinton 2.5%, Carter 2.9%,Bush 43 3.7%, Bush 41 6.1%, LBJ 6.3%, Obama 7.0%,Nixon 8.5%.

When you strip away those one-time factors, it turns out that Obama has allowed domestic spending to increase at the fastest rate since Richard Nixon.

What were the results of the Reagan tax cuts?
According to the Cato Institute:
So Ronald Reagan a) collected more total revenue, b) collected more revenue from the rich, while c) reducing revenue collected by the bottom half of taxpayers, and d) generated an economic powerhouse that lasted – with only minor hiccups – for nearly three decades. http://thedailyhatch.org/2012/11/23/presid…
