I see people are somewhat split on whether they like my comment.

My question is, how else are these people in poverty going to support themselves if they can't get decent jobs? What are their options? Staying with abusive men is a form of prostitution, because they are not doing it willingly.

Rupert may call himself an evangelist but I put his religion more of that of the Taliban branch of Islam. It certainly isn't anything resembing "Christianity" unless there is a new version eliminating all of Jesus' comments about caring for the poor, the sick, the destitute, etc. Must be another of those prosperity gospel nuts!

There is a special place in hell for these people and forget that "once saved, always saved" garbaage because if your attitude was this at the time you were reportedly "saved", both you and your misister need a real course in theology by someone who actually went to a seminary and studied and didn't just decide one daye they were a minister. How can so many small minds be so set on the Old Testament and still call themselves "Christian"? And no, my Jewish friends certainly don't want them either. They are Pharisees in the truest sense of the word.

Conservatives have all along argued that charity is best left to churches and private organizations. Why in the hell is the food bank then distributing tons of food to churches that can't keep up with the demand? Denominational breakdown of the churches on the receiving end would be interesting. Do the churches of the conservatives even have food banks? Aren't they supposed to be leading the way, or is it just more blather???

Basically this is about promoting prostitution. Since most that are affected by this denial of help are women, and they have few options, they are left with selling themselves to men with money.

Therefore, these "Christians" are promoting prostitution, along with domestic abuse and neglect of children. Way to go!

That's following Jesus, isn't it. (sarcasm)
