It is probably not cricket, but I order everything made hot and spicey. My go to dish after some hot and sour soup is the shrimp with Chinese vegetables. Lots of succulent, well-prepared shrimp and a wide variety of the vegetables which I love. I also like their fried dumplings with the sauce. As you can tell, I'm not very adventuresome. I do like other dishes I have had there but I return to my favorites probably too often. Dining in is very pleasant and delivery is very well done by them.

Fantastic China came through for us again. Usual high quality and great taste. Wait was longer because they were slammed! Their hot and sour soup remains at the top of the list especially on a frigid evening.

On Thursday, our family fled for the Courtyard Marriott downtown. Despite ample electricity in the River Market area, there sure wasn't much open. Bosco's, Big Whiskey, Gusano's, and Iriana's were closed. We ended up at the Flying Saucer and though they were out of a few eats, we enjoyed their delicious brats and reuben sammies, along with some of Belgian's finest ale. I'm grateful they went non-smoking so we could take our six year old son.

The pho soup at the head of this article looks terrific. Thursday afternoon I used our gas cooktop to heat up a couple of cans of broth and noodles obtained at Sam's Oriental Market. It was adequate, but it had me longing for Pho Thanh My.

Our power was restored yesterday, so we enjoyed cooking at home again.

Love the orange peel beef at PF Changs---always a good choice.

I found a great lunch at Old Mill with a nice hot bowl of potato soup and their sandwich special which was named Kicking New Year Roast Beef (or something like that). It came with a small roll and a cookie so it was nice and filling on a cold day.

Also, there's a big pile of rubble where Cozymel's used to be, I noticed leaving Tokyo House today.

Leather Bottle anyone? (Cabin fever has settled in.) And the great Queen of them all: Jacques and Suzanne....the restaurant foundation that made LR dining what it is today.
