This reminds me of Mitten's tax plan during the campaign. He was going to lower taxes for all, eliminate the deficit and all by closing "loopholes". "Loopholes" that were never specifically named. I would say maybe the Republicans have become the party of magical thinking, but I think it has more to do with being anti facts, anti science and rigid adherence to no new taxes. The sad thing is, as corrupt as our two party system is, we really need that other party to be viable and contributing to the national conversation.

There are many ways to summarize Repug politics. In the Medicaid and most other situations, you can attribute the errors in judgment to their inability to understand future consequences. What kind of world are they relegating their children to?

The Repugs legislators cannot imagine themselves ever being on the bottom of the heap of humanity. Many of the Repug legislators have marginal skills or intelligence. Whatever dubious celebrity they have now is transitory, made so by their own party that pushed for term limits. Yes, some of them will term limit out to cushy lobbying jobs. But all of the rest will have to return to mundane jobs where actual ability, not glad-handing, counts.

Even the lobbyist jobs will demand production. An ineffective lobbyist is soon sent packing.

Those programs they cut today would be the services that could have helped them and their families to survive in the future, when they are no longer on top of the tiny dung pile that is the Arkansas General Assembly. All too soon, they will become the people they loathed.

Oh REALLY!! You want the them to look again, when they have been examining the medicare situation for years and have turned up every concievable facet of the program possible. Now you want them to do the same work again, because you don't understand it and won't trust the professionals. Man, you guys are a real piece of work. It wouldn't be so bad, but you want to enact laws that hurt the public and then blame them on the other party. There have been too many examples of this in our state government. I direct you to this past legislative session.

I guess agreeing to a tax increase is akin to admitting in Arkansas that you actually passed 3rd grade math. Shirley, someone in the ReTHUGlican Party is smart enough to be able to review numbers. How the hell do they run their own businesses? If you want a different result, get off your podium, grab a pencil, and get your ass over to DHS and start to review numbers with the folks who do it for a living. What is wrong with actually doing your job than just posturing? Damn, the stupidity of anyone who votes for any Republican for any office is equal to the squirrel that is trying to stay ahead of the black lab on open ground. And they disserve teh same result (being shaken into an inch of their lives and then let go)

You can see the problem from the Republican Blame machine. They're trying to find out a way to kick grandma out of level 3 nursing homes and blame it on the democrats while retaining control of legislative decision making.

So right now they're saying Democrats in gubmint are lying about the costs and consequences, saying we, the Repubs. can't get real answers. Then when hospitals begin closing, when nursing homes shut their doors Repubs think they will have something to fall back on: The Demos lied about this...we didn't know this was going to happen.

Just you wait and see. Create the problem then blame it on others, it's the way spineless has always worked.

So I wonder what the Nursing Home Lobbyists are saying....well, I hope these guys enjoy staying home to take care of their elderly parents instead of shipping them off to a nursing home for me (the taxpayer) to care for...I don't think these republicans many of whom don't hold down jobs other than legislature and many of whom have either had their homes foreclosed on or have filed bankruptcy get that it is their parents that are going to get to come home.....

Rep. Bruce Westerman.....another pasty white man with a little boy haircut. Do Republicans fear adult hair? Reckon these guys have pubic hair? Are they being cloned out of a abandoned welding shop in Cabot? It's getting plumb spooky!
