I walked in there expecting typical "bar food" also, although I can't say much because I met my husband at Mid Town Billiards, a bar that I frequented in my twenties! But I have to say they also exceeded my expectations by very far. Also, on my birthday, I ordered a glass of wine, and when I asked for my check, my server said it was on her for my bday. Needless to say, I tipped her extremely well! That has been my great experience there!

Michael I second the wings. They are fantastic and I keep coming back for more even though the service is terrible.
Do they still serve the club sandwhich on that jalapeno almost cornbread type of bread? It was delish, it also used to come with this sauce, I'm not sure what it was but it was good. Last time the sauce was missing from the club sandwhich.

I will say that I had a philly cheesesteak soon after The Tavern opened and it is way too salty and not good at all. I don't think I even ate half of it. But I have been impressed with everything since.

The wings were featured in USA Today (http://travel.usatoday.com/destinations/10…), but I didn't think they were very good with the Hot buffalo sauce. I have since tried them with the Hot Honey and Hot BBQ sauce, though, and they are fantastic. They are also great with no sauce at all.

I've only been once and was pretty disappointed with the food and service. We sat outside and had spacy service. When we asked for a beer list, he said they didn't have one. When asked what beers they had, said "we have a lot- what kind do you like?" I like a lot of beers and wanted to see what kind of selection they had, not just order something off the top of my head. And to top it all off, the turkey philly I had was so salty I couldn't finish it.

Seems like they are doing well though and I'm glad to see that. It may not be my favorite place but I hate to see businesses close.

They have definitely elevated bar food above most other places in town. And those wings are fantastic, although I think the heavy smoked flavor doesn't mesh well with some of the sauces that would work well on non-smoked wings.

They have the best wings in Little Rock. They are big, smoked, and then fried when ordered and smothered with a variety of sauces. This place puts wingstop, Buffalo Wild Wings, and chicken king to shame.
