In thier souls they understand they have no one to blame for their lack of progress.

Having an excuse to tell yourself, inside your own head why others have passed you by grants serinity.

As the one single most privlidged group in the whole history of human existance they have no excuses.

Think about it. I person missing a leg that is able to finnish a 5k makes the newspaper and everyone knows they must haave personally excelled to accomplish that.

A healthy guy comes in it the middle of the pack but finnishes and gets laughed at by others because he was beat by some old runners, some young runners, some women runners etc.

In career it is the same. A mediocre white guy that simply keeps from getting fired in the last year gets a raise and little promotions.

That is not as common the outcome for a women or minority.

The white guy knows that a women moving up must be exceptional.

So now the affluent white guy knows that he received a boost built on lucky birth and knows that if he is found out it could all come crashing down. Thus they must band together to tamp down any advancement of women or minorities.

The lower imcome white guy understands that his position in life is caused by his personal failings since he was born with all kinds of built in advantages. Since the understanding of his poor advancement, his only way to tell his innerself that he isn't so bad, he must find a group that is below him. Thus rebel flags generally on beatup pickups instead of luxury autos.

Plus they must insulate themselves from the "inferior" because they are aware if they met any or many of their "inferior" group the lie in their head would be disproved and they would have to admit to themselves that they suck.

Like a "popular mean girl" in Jr High. She is mean because she knows inside that her popularity is a sham and she would be nothing without parent's money for clothes, cars, Ipads etc.

The only way to queit the failure voice in her head is to delude herself into thinking she is better. That is accomplished by rallying other mean girl wannabes into also attacking a lower on the pecking order girl.

Kids are mean to poor or handicapped kids because they understand that these accomplishing anything reminds the mean ones suck.

The Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) all share the same terror and denigration of the feminine that had been revered in previous religions (which they dubbed "pagan" and viciously fought to exterminate. As they still do today.)

Which, of course, explains the GOP's simultaneous flaunting of fundamentalist Christianity and its fear and hatred of women, gays and lesbians, along with its need to punish and control them.

Bring jobs back to America (good luck selling that to the Thieves of Wallstreet), pay wages that keep families off of the various social net programs, and give up the idea that the investor is the job creator. Investors are now the leeches on capitalism.

It should have read "the S.S. tax should never have been reduced.

I understand why he did it, more money in the pockets of lower income folks means they spend it, stimulate our consumer-based economy. See yellowdog's example though, very nobly, she spent it on worthwhile items.

What did we do with the reduction in taxes? A whole house back-up generator. No regrets. The product was USA produced. Three local workmen had a few hours of labor. All is well

It's a good day when Boehner wins over Cantor. The US is a little safer with a House Speaker who is lazy and dumb and drunk and orange colored instead of Cantor who is the evilest little crooked worm on the planet.
