So, Burris doesn't want an extra 7 million (according to the study) pumped into the Boone County economy (let’s just work with Boone, where he resides)? Or, philosophically, what is the better way to pump up the Boone County economy by $7 million (just for one year, we know there will be several years succeeding and a couple preceding)

Philosophically, and how about pragmatically, what better way could Mr. Burris insure the 5376 of his fellow county residents between 18 and 64 without expanding Medicaid to the 2500 uninsured in Boone County that were less than the 138% poverty level (according to 2009 US census estimates) by 2016?

By the way, the study shows 10,500 to be enrolled in Medicaid in the non-elderly population by 2016. In 2011, Boone County had 9,822 enrollees in Medicaid and another 1552 in ARKids B. I think there's going to be more than 700 residents in Boone county enrolling in Medicaid by 2016. Because if (according to 2009 estimates) there were 2,484 that were uninsured and would qualify for Medicaid under the full <138%FPL. I think they may be underestimating. But maybe it the number is deflated because they weren’t including the elderly. Who cares?

Philosophically, what is a better way for Burris to save his constituents from getting into bankruptcy due to medical bills than by letting Medicaid expand to cover them? The hospital there will be better off with having insurance coverage instead of completely uncompensated care.

Of course, unfortunately, I'm sure a bunch of those uninsured up there don't want none of that Obamacare coverage.

Translated: "I have nothing to say to you unless you agree with me."

Fine representative, wouldn't you say? So okay, maybe he's not specifically Max's representative, but I'd guess there are folks around he IS responsible for representing. And that's whether they voted for him or not. Does he tell them to hie their butt to committee meetings if they're so interested?
Thing is, if I were a constituent and he told me that, I'd be there with bells on and ready to have a few words with him -- might even get arrested.
Now as to representation, while Burris was elected to represent all those in his district, is he not in effect representing all of us throughout the state?
Shocking idea, I know, Burris -- that includes Max and those of us who follow this blog.
Any vote you cast, any persuasive argument you deliver -- I'm assuming you are capable of persuasion -- IS going to affect all of us. Surely you owe an explanation to all of us in Arkansas.
Start typing.
