<![CDATA[It's been a hard couple of months. My family really enjoyed going to Cozymel's, and it's a bummer to see it razed. Now it seems Union is gone. Dang! That one leaves me especially heartbroken. Their food and their cocktails were first rate. I guess it just doesn't pay to fall in love with a restaurant!

GREAT NEWS!!! Today we began the reconstruction process. <![CDATA[If we're talking potato salad, The Pantry does an excellent version that's herbaceous with a touch of mustard (I'm sure Michael will have somthing to say about that shortly), but the best I've found is at Dogtown Cookery in NLR, paired with their pulled pork sandwich. Beautiful stuff.

<![CDATA[The talk about The Tavern wings jarred my memory. US Pizza actually has really tasty wings. Best I can tell, they're not fried, but instead roasted in their pizza oven. They are huge, and they don't have a sauce - the spice on the hot wings is in the breading. The hot aren't too hot, and I really prefer them to the mild. Every time we've ordered them, they've been really moist and tender. Pair them with the house dressing for dipping, and it's a great prequel to their pizza.

<![CDATA[The famed Mary Maestri's, recently relocated to the former Front Porch Restaurant in Springdale, celebrates 90 years. They're talking about bringing back some dishes and prices from the 1948 menu (the first printed one; from its inception in 1923 to the first menu in 1948, the eatery offered just three dishes with no printed pricelist) for a special event. We're talking $2 chicken spaghetti here.
