It appears now that if one opposes Obama and his liberal allies we are considered extremists, well then call me an extremist, a proud south Arkansas extremeist at that. One of the MAJORITY that voted for Cotton. Not saying I will always see eye to eye with his every position,, but there is no way in God's green earth I could have voted for a moron like Jeffress.

He has that 'accent' that they all seem to have. He's going to be one of those who will deny it until we put him in his coffin, but this is a gay man.

BF includes W's runup in debt BEFORE THE ELECTION, much less than before the inauguration.

But then runs the 1/2 truth implying 6 trillion was Obama.

Let's all rememeber that McCain SUSPENDED his campaign IN SEPTEMBER (2 months before even the election) because of the worldwide banking chaos W unleashed with unpaid taxcuts for 6 years and a trillion off the books unfunded wars.

2 MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTION - AND A FULL 4 MONTHS BEFORE THE INAUGURATION

I do wish that most American citizens had the knowledge that BF is a lying, conyving SOB.

Lucky for me I have been paying attention and can easily spot dishonest statistics.
Cotton thinks women are too emotional for combat and would sully our combat units. Tell that to the Mossad in Israel. I'm sure there's several who would be glad to whip his scrawny little ass for such a dumbass remark.

The is a thing I don't understand about women being "too emotional" for combat: Isn't that the whole premise behind not leaving a fallen soldier behind or disobeying an order --isn't putting one self In harms way to save someone else a display of emotions?

It is packaged as honor and acts of heroism --the stuff they give medals for. Oh, the mixed messages and confusion. When a woman does it it's called "emotion". For Men they call it code, honor, heroism.

Let's simplify it: when Tom Cotton speaks, it's bullshit.

Looks as though young Tom Cotton is already standing mighty tall in DC. To wit: They’re havin’ a nice little fundraising dinner for the boy February 11 at the Capitol Hill Club.

The invite prominently and proudly notes the fella's position on the House Financial Services Committee (he’s also on the House Foreign Affairs Committee).

The cost? A mere $2,500 for PACs that wanna help host the event and $1,000 for PACs that just wanna attend. An individual is welcome to dine for $500. Heckuva deal, Tommy! But something tells me our blog bud, Hackett, won’t be there.

      He's baaack.

Bluefriction, The question is not whether we should bring our spending into line. The question is WHEN to do it.

Too many people have no jobs and no money. Democrats have proven to be good stewards of the economy---see Clinton.

Also, please read that report from the IMF's chief economist, Blanchard, and he will explain how austerity has made the European situation worse. I linked a few days ago and eL did again today in this thread.

There will be a time for austerity and paying down the debt---just not yet. We were there in 2000 and then Repubs got a hold of the purse strings.

Balancing the budget is now seen as extreme?

From Obama's blueprint for change:

“The cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the
federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing
our cities and states of critical investments in infrastructure like
bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of
critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our
seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on. … If
Washington were serious about honest tax relief in this country, we’d see
an effort to reduce our national debt by returning to responsible fiscal
policies.”
– Barack Obama, Speech in the U.S. Senate, March 13, 2006

Restore Fiscal Discipline in Congress
Obama will reinstate pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) budget rules, so that new spending or tax cuts are paid for by spending cuts or new revenue elsewhere.
Cut Pork Barrel Spending
Obama will cut skyrocketing pork barrel spending projects by forcing more transparency about who is requesting projects and what the projects would accomplish before Congress votes to approve them.

I suspect that this will just be the first of many embarrassments that Cotton will foist on the State of Arkansas before the voters in the Fourth District kick his butt to the curb. Hopefully that will be in 2014, as one-and-done sounds really good regarding Cotton's tenure representing Arkansas.

He's not one of us and should NOT be representing any part of Arkansas in Washington.

Wow! It's like deja vu all over again...again.
