lrlady, muchas gracias for the link to the ASU library. I called them a few minutes ago; alas, one gets only a recorded answer after 5 p.m. But I’ll check tomorrow. And I'll be first in line to pin a rose on the folks at ASU if, indeed, they have microfilm that even the entities noted at 2:39 don’t have. Thanks, again!

Durango, ASU's Library has a site where they list all newspapers they hold on microfilm. They have most of the Gazettes. They say they're missing some in 1869, 1897, and 1947; but, at least according to their website, they should have 12/31/1911. http://www2.astate.edu/a/library/about/dep…

"History mystery turns up on Craigslist"

Here’s another history mystery. A big ‘un. A mystery that’s 101-years-old: Neither an Arkansas Gazette nor an Arkansas Democrat for December 31, 1911, can be found anywhere.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s archives don’t have a copy of either paper. Nor does the Central Arkansas Library System’s main library in LR. Nor the Arkansas Studies Institute. Nor the Arkansas History Commission.

Reckon what a body could get on Craiglist for a copy of either paper?
