If you're so 'pro-life', seems that your energies would be better spent trying to make abortions unneccesary in the first place by preaching education and birth control.
You could also spend some of that energy addressing the issues of child abuse and how to save those kids who are already here where they don't grow up to perpetuate the problems. Obviously, though, your only concern about them is as a statistic.

I have heard that type of argument before. Let me respond to that by pointing out that since 1973 there has been a growing disrespect for children that has come from the time of this ruling towards unborn children. In the film WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE HUMAN RACE? by Dr. C. Everett Koop and Francis Schaeffer they responded to the idea that abortion was necessary to lower child abuse rates. However, child abuse rates went up every year from 1973 to till the making of that film which was 1980. I DO CARE ABOUT YOUNG KIDS LIKE YOU DO BUT YOUR PRO-CHOICE VIEWS ARE IS A KEY ELEMENT OF WHAT IS WRONG IN THE USA TODAY!!!!

I wish people would look at this logically. If there is doubt when an unborn baby is alive then we should err on the side of caution.

Ronald Reagan rightly noted, "What, then, is the real issue? I have often said that when we talk about abortion, we are talking about two lives — the life of the mother and the life of the unborn child. Why else do we call a pregnant woman a mother? I have also said that anyone who doesn’t feel sure whether we are talking about a second human life should clearly give life the benefit of the doubt. If you don’t know whether a body is alive or dead, you would never bury it. I think this consideration itself should be enough for all of us to insist on protecting the unborn."

Anyway, if you were really serious about reducing abortions by relying on the facts, you'd be for universal health care -- unless you are arguing that our world-leading abortion rate is because our mothers are the most evil mothers in the world. Concerning your persuadable neighbor.

Some innocents are falsly recruited into all types of groups, Amway or Scientology come to mind.

But they prove their reason and logic by leaving once it dawns on them.

After the NRA's recent self expose' of their lunacy, last week sort of was the dividing line of "oops" vs. "I'm nuts".

The "guns in all schools is how to keep guns out of some schools" pitch, replete with demons and warlocks was that moment in my oppinion.

Innocents could have been lured into the clan but once a lynching was witnessed one becomes culpable.

I do believe the NRA has jumped the shark this time. The Secret Service for Elites was one weird stand BUT! Did you notice the little throw in about TAXING THE RICH?

The NRA has seen itself ridiculed and is now latching onto a completely unrelated issue.

Everything the NRA has swung with since Sandy Hook has been laughed at by the bystanders. In any fight that is where it is time to quit, not double down.

Mr. Persuadable has about 15 minutes to quietly slink away or double down.

Please keep us posted to know if Mr. Persuadable is out or all in.

Apparently there is lots of blustering by those congress critters and assorted sheriffs and loons. I may just shut my computer down for the day.

I spoke to my NRA-member neighbor yesterday. He's not worried about his hunting guns at all. He says some people he has talked to are frothing at the mouth. As I said in a post yesterday, he is persuadable. There are plenty of NRA members like him who can be peeled off from the dark side. Not if we demonize them though.

Yeah, he seemed to be an ok guy. Like me, he is a little long-in-the-tooth and, also like me, a bit confused at times like that time he kept referring to us as "Alabama". You almost have to take that as a compliment the way he had the hogs playing. Or, maybe, it was just wishful thinking on his part.

But when he started addressing us as "you people" and all that carryin' on about his his crazy aunt living in the attic...I gave up on him.
