<![CDATA[In order to qualify for weekly unemployment payments, the claimant must certify under penalty of fraud that they did not refuse to submit to a pre-employment drug screening, if they were refused employment because of a failure on a drug test, and that they were available for work each day of the week being claimed. While I believe that any person who is "available for work" must by definition be drug free, since most employers now require pre-employment screening, I don't see any reason to require state mandated and monitored random drug testing, as it is already being addressed in the certification one attests to when claiming benefits. Seems redundant.

<![CDATA[Democrats should amend the bill to hold those who vote for it personally responsible for any expenses to defend it in court. Won't the AG be the one expected to defend the bill? What if he refuses? Remember that at the federal level, the AG, after losing twice at the Appeals levels, refused to defend DOMA and the US Tea Pot Brain House Republicans took it upon themselves to defend the bill. I guess, we will all end up paying the bill but it should come out of their pay checks at NMT 40% a pay period until the government is repaidin full.

<![CDATA[Apparently they haven't bothered to look at Florida's expenditures on a similar program. They have spent thousands on drug tests to find a very small percentage of positive tests. They were expecting to have a windfall of money from denied benefits, but alas those seeking welfare weren't all on drugs!!
