Ran across a post from a retired colonel on the special forces This Ain't Hell (But You Can See It From Here) web site that pretty well nails previous exchanges on this site:

For a man to dishonor, lie, invent fabrications, purposefully and falsely accuse Viet Nam warriors of the most vile and vicious atrocities, should result by any humanitarian standard in incarceration with prejudice. My heart weeps, my soul cries out for justice, my mind tells this cannot be happening in America…what have we become?
John Kerry, a war criminal just a few days away from a congressional hearing and vote that could confirm his as Secretary of State…a man with the character of a rat, snake, roach, gaining through perjured testimony he gave Congress forty years ago is now deemed worthy of honor…a thought that has me shaking between weeping and puking…
Seen any good flicks lately, my rose? We saw Matt Damon’s “Promised Land” a couple weeks ago. It was pretty good, but have seen better. Will say this: The surprise ending was, well, a surprise.

DSSW and a couple of her gal pals have set a goal of seeing all the Oscar-nominated pitcher shows. Yesterday, it was “Django Unchained.” Their reviews of it were similar to what the lovely Mrs. Sister posted. They, too, thought it was great; just covered their eyes during the brutal parts. Me, I’m on the road these days and way behind with movie-going.

Note to anybody interested: If the pee-pee joke posted at 11:29 PM won’t open there, maybe it will here:
Sound Policy - watch your AT&T bills. It took me more than two weeks, and then more than two more hours with a local AT&T person to get an explanation......... I was finally able to drop AT&T internet (it ain't what it's cracked up to be) for fiber optic (stimulus - last mile) and I also dropped my landline. At that time i asked for the bill to be recalculated and was refused. Waited for the bill to recalculate itself and paid them. A week later I got an overdue notice. No one could explain why I owed them 298$ a week after paying almost 500, which included the only late payment I'd had in more than 20 years. At one point they said they were gonna open a mediation case and that they would call back the next day. They never did, and calling them back only re-started the whole process. I told them I wasn't gonna pay for something they couldn't explain. Finally cut my service. That's when it took two hours for the local AT&T rep to find out that because i was no longer on combined billing, that instead of being billed for service already rendered, I was now being billed for upcoming service.

I'm still not sure that's the actual truth, as I had been told in the past that I was being billed ahead of service. I am not unconvinced that I got screwed because I dropped two services. The did not, however, charge to reconnect me and apologized for not calling back.

Anyone call ther state DHS to have them check up on Master Irwin to sssure that he isn't be starved to death by his parents since he talked of being dependent on hunting food to survive in that wilderness town of Mountain View? You would think that his parents would not be so neglective but it must be all of those "rslly around the gun barrel" meetings they have up that a way!

I met him once, several years ago at a World Series party that Ted Turner sponsored in Atlanta. I remember him as a very gracious and approachable gentleman who took the time to visit with everyone who wanted to speak to him.
>>they were out for 4 days--that's phone, internet and cable--and since a month of service is $151.

You know Verla, during the huge ice/snow storm in NWA of 2009, I had neighbors who were without phone (wire and cable) for 10 days. Naturally they were welcome to use our cell phones.
If possible I strongly suggest a move to cellular, in case you haven't. I do not miss my SWB ph at all, not a bit. You can keep your current ph number too.

Maybe my experience will help some of you save money. I called AT&T last weekend to ask about their online bundle deals for high-speed internet (at least what we refer to as 'high-speed internet' in America, or maybe just Arkansas) and a landline phone. I had been paying $38 for AT&T DSL Pro internet and $21 for my landline plus assorted taxes, a total of $70.19/month. And that didn't include long distance so I had been using a calling card at $0.03-0.035/minute for that.

Well, they offered to bundle the so-called high-speed internet at twice the speed (up to 6 mbps downstream) with my landline including unlimited long distance in the continental US for $45! That saves $14/month plus I'm guessing another $2 or so of monthly taxes,a bout $16/month or $192 over the next year. And in return for the savings I now have internet speed twice as fast AND unlimited long distance.

AT&T U-verse just recently came to our neck of the woods. This bundle price is locked in for 12 months.

It pays to call and let them know there are competitors for all these services, and you are considering switching if you can get a better deal elsewhere. I believe in showing them the same loyalty they show us- none.
