Isn't it rather odd (as in horrifyingly mad!) congress isn't insisting with all its might that we, you know, don't drone the hell out of innocents or maintain assassination squads all around the world? ANd why should we expect this and many more horrors are not nor never will be utilized upon us?

The GOP wants more money for our military - yet thinks our military is going to disarm us citizens... Does that make sense to you? Give more money to the people you are afraid of? Also, I don't consider any of us free if we have to hide behind handguns 24/7. And for the locos claiming our government is perpetrating these shooting events - Why would that be when it's the gun makers/sellers making the only profit?

Maybe we should ask our best friends Israel or Saudi Arabia what to do? Oh wait, just look at Bahrain or Gaza (including our part in it).... and ask yourself if you want citizen without government disarmament in the face of our tyranny.

We expect elected officials to come into office with the discussion already having been held. Then the elected officials can discuss the topic without the emotion.

We don't want any "on the job training" going on once they have arrived for the legislative session.

Isn't that part of their campaign promise! "I am the best for the job." Not "send me there and I'll learn what to do"!

I DO expect emotions to be high after a tragedy but I also expect grownup elected officials to be able to explain to their constituents why their prethought and preconsidered stance is logical.
