Perhaps the conservatives are desperately unhappy about this past November having been their last best chance and think that the word liberal is gonna send folks running for their guns and bibles and all that, but they're wrong. They simply do not have the numbers. And they aren't going to anytime soon with the disarray the republican Party is in.

So they scream LIBERAL! and try to distract the rest of us.

"If a liberal rag says it, it has to be true....".

Certainly far more truth than anything you might find on FAUX News(?) or the ARDemGaz. If you are as far off the table to the right as FAUX and most of their contributors, everything is left because there is no more "right" to be.

It would be nice if the DoG would just once listen to what is said before Greenburg drags out his tired list of what is wtong. He isn't the legend in his own mind that he thinks he is. Being able to string big words together and actually speak the truth have no relationship to each other and I see that he is going to be part of that "Kill the Tech Park" rally at the state capitol tomorrow.

Everytime the AR legislature or DoG writes or speaks out, the less the chance that the creative types that build businesses in tech parks, that I thought we want, think about locating here. You are competing with CA, NY, MA, and WA state, not Mississippi where you might look 1 brain cell smarter. Your tech park is a dream that your city and state management can forget until some attitudes change and some mouths stay shut for a while.

Most of these words mean nothing or have so many definitions.

It's just about useless to read/discuss these articles without an author or commentariat defining the terms as they mean it at the time.

I will say to me the term centrist nearly always means neoliberal. Heck, most of the times conservative, progressive and socialist means neoliberal too. It's all America (the west) has. Neoliberal is violent, it's theft, it's class warfare, abrogation of the rule of law, it's corporate/rich rights to profit, without human rights, it's placing a price meter and a punishment on everything for the people while allowing the wealthy and the war criminals to operate entirely outside of the law. That's what centrist means to me... and damn right that covers the overwhelming majority of both corrupt parties.

Centrist is vague but additionally it almost always means they are talking about themselves/ center of D.C. think (without much thinking)... not we the people.

It's not about us, except for the looting.

Though it was to be expected, I am still appalled by the Repug assertion that the politically-neutered Inaugural speech was "divisive" and a rejection of bipartisan cooperation. That the proposals in the speech were considered liberal extremism is a sad commentary on how far we have declined as a humane and progressive voice in the world.

For Repugs, "it's our way or no way" is their definition of cooperation. Immediately after the 2008 election the same Repug mouthpieces were pledging to make Obama a one-term President and vowing to make his Presidency "fail." Again, Repugs demonstrate that they have no shame.

"For the administration to be missing in action in this showdown risks conveying a message to the justices that it lacks confidence in the constitutional claims for ending gay people’s exclusion from marriage or that it believes Americans are not ready for a high court ruling making marriage equality the law of the land — impressions strikingly contradicted by legal precedent, the lessons of history and by the president’s own very powerful words."
