<![CDATA[This forum is for subjective opinionated writing. Blogs like this are not news reports, there has to be opinions expressed in any critical review style writing. Any kind of restaurant review is all up to the individual personal taste and past experiences to draw off in the writing. Constructive debate is good and life would be boring if everyone agreed and thought the same way. I experienced Local Lime recently and was fortunate to not have a very long before dining. I must say that it was good overall but not great. I also found that trying to dine with people waiting and basically surrounding our table was annoying and not desirable. I definitely would never wait very long for a table at Local Lime or at any restaurant. The best item we enjoyed was the queso we ordered. It was very creamy and had just right amount of spice. The chips were also perfectly fried and seasoned. I was not impressed with the drunken beans at all. They had little flavor and reminded me of something straight out of a can. I need to get over to SW LR and tried out all the good Mexican places in that area. Thanks Eat Arkansas for continuing to highlight all the dining options around Central AR.

<![CDATA[Whatever happened to unbiased journalism? It is clear that the author of this article has a very anti-West Little Rock tone. After the usage of "hoity-toity" in the third paragraph, the writer and the Arkansas Times blog lost its credibility. Where is the actual review in this article (and where is the author's name)? Obviously, the patrons of Local Lime disagree with everything that was said - or else that 2.5 hour wait that everyone keeps talking about would not exist. It’s a sad day for real food critics. How sad that someone was actually proud to produce this piece.

<![CDATA[I have been twice and will go again. The size of the crowds is really unbelievable. We ended up at Big Orange just before Christmas when there was a 2.5-hour wait at Local Lime. But the first week of January we figured it would be slow. Not so much -- a one-hour wait at 7:30 on a Tuesday. But we found bar seats. Agree with reviewer that all is really very decent but not world-class. And the prices are a little crazy. One Monday my wife and I were taking a day off and were going to head to LL only to find on line (thankfully before we trekked out from our downtown abode) that it's closed Mondays. So we went to Taqueria Karina. Very similar tacos for $1.25 vs. $3.75. Same made-fresh style guacamole for $3.50 vs. $8.50. Rent's very different on 65th Street vs. Promenade, as is cost to outfit the interior -- I love the look/feel/vibe of Local Lime. And the patrons on 65th can't afford to pay what Chenalites can. But still ...

<![CDATA[Hi AReats, Thanks so much for reading our review and taking the time to comment! It is from this type of feedback that find ways to improve upon what we do. We would love to make the corn tortillas ourselves, however, due to the small size of our space, we do not have the room to facilitate this. We work with Tortilleria Brenda in SW Little Rock to supply all 3 of our tortillas. They are made fresh every morning a mere 9 miles aways. Though using local tortillas is not the cheapest option (which factors into our prices) we feel it is the best tasting option (aside from making them in house.) We are thrilled to partner with other local businesses like Tortilleria Brenda - it is vital to creating and perpetuating a local food business economy. So happy that you made it out and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you again soon! amber

As a total street meat fan, I’m super pleased with the hidden gems I have discovered (mostly to this blog – thanks!). That being said, I will cut someone for Local Lime’s chorizo tacos.

<![CDATA[Glad to know someone else feels the way I do about it. I think the main problem is a lot of the people flocking to Local Lime haven't made a trip down to Southwest LR to get superior tacos at half the price out of a truck. I have heard great things about the rice, but the drunken beans weren't anything to write home about, and the pickled vegetables were waaayyy too tangy. As I am sure I will eventually eat there again someday, I think I will venture away from the tacos and try out something else on the menu (I have heard good things about the lobster enchiladas). Of course, I have never understood why you would wait an hour for a table at On the Border when you can walk right in and get a table at El Porton down the street. I am always amazed, though, at how well these guys know their target and cater to them perfectly. I just also think the food at ZaZa and Big Orange is usually pretty great, while, like you said, Local Lime is just pretty good.
