The main potential problem for Hillary will be the performance of Obamacare. If it works well then I see Republicans having a hard time winning in 2016, but if it does not work well and there are lines then watch out for a Republican win.

The Lord knows that I was dreadfully wrong about my 2012 prediction that Obama would lose in Ohio and other swing states. I really doubted Max Brantley's prediction of an Obama win and I had to come back and give him credit afterwards for the good prediction.

I ran across a funny carton from Dan Mitchell's blog on President Obama concerning Obamacare that I thought I would share. He is talking it over with Thomas Jefferson. http://thedailyhatch.org/2013/02/06/carton…

outlier - Yes, it would have been better to support Mubarek for a few more months until the election, since his retirement was already scheduled to occur then, and give the more moderate political parties a chance to get better organized. Instead, Obama and Hillary panicked and demanded Mubarek's immediate removal. It was a shabby way to treat a reliable long-time ally, and it paved the way for the Islamic Brotherhood activists to win the election, since they had been well-organized for decades and waiting for their opportunity.

outlier - The average person in the Middle East wants security, dignity and respect. He wants to earn a decent living and make a better life for himself and his family. He wants education for his children, good nutrition, and respect for his religious beliefs. Democracy? It's not at the top of the list, and their civilization is far older than ours.

In fact, it is you who promotes the so-called white man's burden with your demands for Western-style democracy in the Middle East. And let's recall your prediction that the Islamic Brotherhood could not win the elections in the first place, so you have a credibility problem on foreign policy matters.

Kay at BJ, who is very active in Ohio politics, says the big money boys are hollowing out the GOP as a party.

Here are a couple of quotes.

"Talking to the disgruntled Tea People here, I’m starting to think they’re LESS radical than the GOP. They thought it was about reducing the size of government, but it isn’t. It’s about re-directing public funds OUT and then UP.

"I think the GOP ends up with several corporate-type entities, huge salaries at the tippy-top and then 10 dollar an hour temps. I think caucuses and such, Party chairs, people who are ELECTED matter less and less. They’re “hollowing out” that Party, as an entity."

"I don’t think their big donors have any attachment to the GOP as a Party. The Koch’s don’t care about the organization that is the GOP. They want what they want. They want to end organized labor and environmental regs. The same is true of Adelson. Adelson has actually said as much. He wants to buy one issue, Israel. Whoever and whatever gets him there.

"I heard complaints from local GOP’ers, “Party people”, at the county level about “Boston”. They said Romney’s corporate team had contempt for them.

"I don’t have any sympathy for the Tea Party, but I see the objection. They thought they could change the GOP thru elections, both running for positions within the Party and getting people elected. I’m not sure the GOP believes in those anymore. Much easier to have an opaque and private appointed “board” model. Quiet rooms."

Echoing Kay, I don't think the Kochs and Adelson and the Waltons give a damn about silly little people like Jason Rapert, Bryan King and Missy Irvin, etc. They will be allowed to strut around and introduce their silly little bills as long as they play the game on the things big money really cares about---busting unions, busting environmental regulations and busting the public school system because there is money to be made in privatization.

Oligarchs don't care about gun laws---they can afford private security. Oligarchs don't care about abortion---they can jet off to a fancy clinic somewhere if the need should arise. Oligarchs don't care about public education---their children are already in high dollar private schools. The fact that they don't care about the environment is evidence of their sociopathy---in the end, they still have to breathe and many of them own coastal properties.

Rapert and King and others are just useful tools for the oligarchs and they are too stupid to see how they are being used.
But she has led us to many avoidable foreign policy disasters - especially handing Egypt to the emerging salafist dictatorship, and blasting open the gates of Gaddafi's arsenals. Now North Africa is flooded with heavy weapons - including surface-to-air missiles - and they were used in the subsequent terrorist attack in Algeria.

A couple of years ago, she announced that she'd reached an agreement with North Korea to end their nuclear weapons program. Oops.

She hasn't really accomplished much at State that would help her in a presidential campaign.
I hope she retires from retail politics and devotes herself to public service in other ways. That would be best for everyone.
Don't you see? Bill Clinton was never legitimate in their eyes because in their eyes he was just this white trash up-start from Arkansas. He was smarter than they were and better at their game. He's still standing while their party is not just in disarray, but in the process of imploding.
Barack Obama can never be legitimate in their eyes because, if you haven't noticed, he is a black man. He is also smarter than they are and better at their game. Ditto, for Hillary.
