After reading the filings, I do understand the difficulty with the question regarding applicants with disabilities. Requesting this information ON THE APPLICATION FOR ENROLLMENT could be viewed as an opportunity to screen out applicants with disabilities. Some of the schools did something much better. Rather than just saying that they don't collect that information ON THE APPLICATION, they reported the number students with disabilities who were enrolled. Of course, it is after enrollment that the disabilities would need to be addressed.

It seems like most of the schools were doing a good job in attempting to respond to the spirit of poorly written legislation.

Why am I not surprised that the existing charters in Arkansas are less than forthcoming with the data they are supposed to report.

Someone should have thought to have placed a hefty penalty on any school that practiced deception in their reporting on this.

but if you want to excell in footbal, you have to pay the price.

      Max:
Do you have a problem (or anyone) with realizing the injustice of semantics that writes about "disabled students" as opposed to students with disabilities? While Voc-Rehab is nested within the Education Cabinet, should one attempt to advance in life, I can assure you that the mountains we have to move and obstacles to overcome are almost too much. If you are a student, and if a teacher watches carefully, the capacity with reasonable and well designed/placed technologies that provide access to the moment, then the learning and the joy inherent to profound teaching occurs. In other words, show me some "disabled life"! A gift at all scales, an art to be celebrated (hopefully in harmonies with friends and families). Your insight and that of many of those who post are often on point for the most part. The discourse, I cherish. Though typing blindly into this keyboard is not the same as human to human interaction.

mudturtle, I thnk that Arkansas has about 21% on average.

I don't think it was Jeffress but someone in the legislature had asked for the amount of money that school spent on athletics and got answers from all over the map with large schools with multiple coaches reporting zero spending because the coaches also taught 1 class a day. Did that ever get straightened out? I ask because I think it is Fayetteville that is reportedly paying a coach $100K a year with no (zero) teaching assigments. (What do they think he is-a superintendent?)
