The Grammys are banning nudity!?! Except for the annual Victoria's Secret special, a few SyFy shows, old (very old) MTV vids, and the constant legislative attacks on women, where are we old codgers with basic cable going to get our memories jogged? Oh, woe is us.

CBS Program Practices advises:
"Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible “puffy” bare skin exposure. Please avoid commercial identification of actual brand name products on T-shirts. Foreign language on wardrobe will need to be cleared. OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST. This as well, pertains to audience members that appear on camera."

Oh, woe, woe, woe, is us. What's next: chador or even burqa?
Where are you, norma, dbi?

I feel sorry for the Collins kid. His mom is bad enough that he lives with the coach- who helps him with his education, getting a scholarship etc, then the mom comes in and ruins the most important day of his life thus far for her own selfish reasons. Rumor has it she is a drug addict- thus not exactly the overly involved parent that Mitch Mustain dealt with- then has people making light of his situation. I really feel for this young man. Hopefully he can escape and make a good life for himself.
Can Rapert or King be far behind? Perhaps Mississippi truly needs this law

JACKSON, Miss. —A Mississippi lawmaker has introduced a bill that would outlaw the creation of "human-animal hybrids" and impose fines on offenders.

Rep. William "Tracy" Arnold, R-Booneville, has proposed The Protection of the Human Person Act, known as House Bill 819.

The bill defines a human-animal hybrid as embryos that contain human and non-human cells, nuclei or chromosomes; embryos that were created by fertilizing a human egg with animal sperm, or vice-versa; or a nonhuman life form "engineered" with a human brain.

The language is part of a bill that also restricts cloning, abortion and assisted suicide.

Arnold said human-animal hybrids aren't a real concern, but said the bill is an opportunity to lay some groundwork to protect embryos from research.

The controversy was first sparked by a Clarion-Ledger blog written by Brian Eason.
Another thing we have failed to mention here to account for Courtney Henry's campaign successes are the long legs, shod in hightop boots, short skirts and her blonde tresses. Never underestimate the value of good looks when a woman is running for public office. John Goodson and W.H. Taylor certainly did not.

You gotta admit she was a lot better looking than John Fogleman.

wannabee, I've posted this before but more than 6 or 7 years ago, the Pentagon Quadrennial Review addressed this very issue. They were predicting, back then, future wars over border rivers and watersheds. That old western saying, "Whiskey's for drinkin'. Waters for fightin'." will have new meaning for the 21st Century.

Water wars? Yeah, the signs of this coming conflict started a long time ago. Just getting ready to go international in a big way.

I can find a way to live for awhile without petroleum products given the Zombie Apocalypse or the Mad Max version of society that Mr. LaPeeeere envisions for our country. Heck , I live in the country and got a gun. But I can't live without water.

Probably previously posted: A minor victory, but they are so few that we're entitled some minor glee:
On Tuesday, "Frontline" aired a report called "The Untouchables" detailing the DOJ's failure to prosecute the big banks for the 2008 financial meltdown and zeroing in on Lanny Breuer, the former White House legal counsel for Clinton who headed the DOJ's criminal division under Obama.

On Wednesday, the Washington Post reported that Breuer was stepping down.
http://www.prwatch.org/news/2013/01/11959/…
Now, if only we could get the banks to operate out of graybar hotels.

eL, Like the absolute silence about the climate during the $7 billion Prez campaign, I got very little response when I posted info about the ncadac report a month ago. And another blurb about the next wars are going to be about water met with "... ."

People are sitting on their sofas, hands over their eyes, and babbling "la, la, la, la ..." hoping it will all go away once they stop. Sad truth is that it will all go away. Cheap energy, clean air, clean water could become faint memories of the past.
To the deniers I ask, "What are the consequences if you're wrong and do nothing?"
Saline Republican, unless you're being an armed guard for church services or holding a Milton Freidman Fan Club meeting then I'm downright disappointed in you. We must leave up to Congressman Womack to do the honors which YOU, Saline, should have gladly performed:

"Happy 102nd birthday to Ronald Reagan, an American hero! I hope Congress and the Administration will be reminded of his wisdom on this day.

"We don't have deficits because people are taxed too little. We have deficits because big government spends too much." -Ronald Reagan (SOTU, 1/27/87)
--------------------------------------------------
Let's give thanks to President Reagan's memory:

Thank you President Reagan for giving THREE MILLION undocumented aliens blanket immunity so they could become THREE Million American citizens who own homes and work.

Please carry on bloggers...

Ms. Goodson sounds like she's bought and paid for like some other professions that are looked down on by society (prostitution, male or female comes to mind). And so out in the open as well. Has she no shame?

Big River Steel Mill? Bend over, Arkansans because the Koch brothers want to screw you again. And guess what? They are going to be paid to do it.

Republican legislators along with just about all of the Democrats? Hell, with this bunch the three stooges of Mauch, Fuqua, and Hubbard wouldn't even be noticed.

George (40%) Hopkins? I will be preparing his meal of crow. And I will enjoy this as I am a member of the ATRS.

I think her former in-laws likely had something to do with that. She played them well and waited until just months after the election to file for divorce. I understand it was amicable.
Has anyone tracked her judicial decisions?
