"Hell of a lot more likely to save someone in a church, say, than a handgun, I would wager."

Not if the church-goer was shot through the heart. And what do you do if the evil shooter shoots the defibrillator first?

But saying that, I think we need to push for defibrillators in every place we can afford them. These units are amazing, and save countless lives, ones that can only be saved before the first responders arrive.

Guns save lives, too, by the way.

Meant to put this in the Open Line last night, but has anyone else seen this: http://www.facebook.com/VivaHalter ? It appears that Halter is courting the young Latino vote. Not a bad move considering Asa!'s history with Homeland Security/immigration stuff.

Rapert also got his rant in The Log Cabin Democrat in Tea Party Land (Conway) along with a long letter to the editor about how great it is that the "Youth Ministers" show up at lunch at Conway High School to counsel the students. What is wrong with all day Sunday and Wednesday night and all of the other nights that New Life Church meets? Slow learners? Very slow learners? Why are any non-parental adults allowed on campus at any time during the day if not part of a school function? BTW, where does the "super" go to church (frankly, I don't know and really don't give a damn)? But remember the 2nd questioon any one asks you when you first meet is where do you go to church?

      Other morning notes:
From Letters in D-G--a valid plea for medical marijuana, and from Jason Rapert, a rant against the left-wing distortion of his comments.
(My D-G would expire next month, but daughters extended it for a year. Also told me "New Subscriptions" are available cheap at K-Mart.)
