Its called the NBA. Look at the home w/l record for the NCAA in general. Home team wins ALOT. This isn't unique to AR. We haven't been good since 1999.

The team needs the kind of psychological toughness that comes from viewing road games as combat in enemy territory where you realize from the time you get on the plane leaving Fayetteville that you are headed for warfare and can expect nothing good to happen unless you force it. That is what Coach Richardson honed into his players. That is why when they played Duke in the championship game the team didn't collapse when the going got tough. They were psychologically tough.

The UA has the greatest road basketball coach in its history as an ex-coach who can't help his protege because the administration isn't smart enough to put him on the payroll in any capacity. Coach Anderson is a fine coach. He needs help from the finest we've had. If he gets it, this team can really do some special things, even in the time left in the current season.

If I were Anderson, at this point I would even be praying to the voodoo god "Jobu" if I thought it would do any good. "It worked in Major League"

You don't win against a team like Florida based entirely on that team having an off day. So, the talent is there. I think you are looking at a real psychological problem that occurs when playing off the home court that keeps building year after year.

These players know the history of off-court games the last few years. Add those negative thoughts to the pressure cooker of away games and it can cripple you!

So, while it may look good to the fans, I don't think Anderson being "tougher" on the court is going to do any good. Anderson is going to have to develop the skill or find someone who can get these kids over the mental hurdle.

He has a little time left. Usually Arkansas fans don't throw coaches under the bus until the third or fourth season.
