There should be a historical monument or plaque telling this story erected in a prominent place in the Capitol. But I won't hold my breath for Mark Martin to do it.

Barbara Leary is my sister and in 1964 she was very brave to go in alone. A person of color(East Indians,Hispanics,Asians I am not sure about) could be arrested for any dubious reason anywhere in the south.I was away at school at North Texas State University and at that time I did not realize the significance of her action.Imagine even if you worked at the Capitol your color was used to prevent something as everyday as going to lunch nearby during your lunch time.

Have you ever heard of a Will Campbell. Somehow this idea of discrimination has yet to register in the civil rights movement to include disability other than the unfunded civil rights mandate of the ADA. And yet, there seems to be a need to a general washing to open the eyes of those blinded by their arrogance of power, wealth or whatever. Better design can be had for all, when one understands the nature of nature! Walker Percy, Waylon Jennings, Robert Coles and even Jimmy Carter and John Lewis were quite complimentary about the man's insight and efforts.
