Max. Love your stuff, fun to read, though I disagree with you, on you know, almost everything.

You have a lot straw men (misrepresenting the opposing argument) here; if you were a younger man, I would blame you of learning that skill from our President. "Climate change" is a broad term which we know happens regardless of man's activity -- see the Ice Age, for example. It is probably true that Republicans (and even some independents and Democrats) tend to be skeptical about man-caused global warming, particularly to the impact of CO2. What I find truly astonishing is the simpleton view of science that outliers in weather patterns can convince (alleged) empiricists like yourself of man-caused "global warming" or "climate change" -- as you do when you mention Christmas snow in Little Rock.

Now I may be ignorant (yes, set up line), but I cannot think of a single time that Republicans or global warming skeptics have organized a boycott of company for anything as minor as the foundation of the deceased founder's family mentioning climate change in a press release about a study that pushes "common-sense, cost effective water conservation approaches that make the most economic and ecological sense for the Basin and for the River." In fact, I am trying to remember anytime anyone has boycotted a retail establishment over its global warming or climate change views. Perhaps Max has an example, but my bet is that this is just the caricature of Republicans that Max has in his mind.

The implication, however thinly supported, peddled here is that Republicans are hypocritical because they are predisposed to like Walmart, and they WOULD boycott a more left leaning company (like Starbucks or Apple) if they embraced the global warming cause. Mostly conservative boycotts have been for social issues, and lead by non-partisan organizations, like AFA.

Of course, along with Max's straw men, he gives us a side of Red Herring by conflating the issue with "guns" and "fetuses" references.

Max may have a good point to make here (or not), but if he does, it is lost in his shoot-from-the-hip ideologically driven chain of logical fallacies. (Full disclosure: I recognize this writing technique because I too was guilty of it from time to time back when I was employed as a journalist.)

That being said, you still have the best political blog in Arkansas. Keep up the good work.

Just watch for Chinese made Climate Change Protection Kits that will soon go on sale at Wal-Mart. Nothing sez protection like lead umbrellas made by people earning 32 cents per hour.

The Waltons just threw this out to cover their delirium over the thoughts of a new 9 dollar minimum wage. When Prez Obama was speaking about people who work 40 hours per week yet still lived in poverty.....he was talkin about Wal-Mart workers. Ouch! That's gotta hurt!

Sadly, the truth is that their maids making 9 dollars per hour still won't be able to afford to purchase health insurance for their kids, even if they work 7 days per week.....the same for all Wal-Mart workers south of the main office in Bentonville.

But thanks for this crumb, Jim.
