reject the belief that the status quo of frequent suspensions and large racial disparities is unchangeable.”32
While it is possible that students from certain groups in some districts may misbehave more than others, research on
student behavior, race, and discipline found no evidence that the over-representation of blacks in out-of-school suspension
is due to higher rates of misbehavior.33 A Texas report found that black students were more likely to be disciplined
for “discretionary” offenses, and that when poverty and other factors were controlled for, higher percentages of white
students were disciplined on more serious nondiscretionary grounds, such as possessing drugs or carrying a weapon.34
Finally, a 2010 study of 21 schools led by Johns Hopkins researcher Catherine Bradshaw found that even when controlling
for teacher ratings of student misbehavior, black students were more likely than others to be sent to the principal’s
office for disciplinary reasons.35"

As a student of Arkansas' K-12 public school system, I know that black and white students are treated differently-even for the same "offenses".

Go anywhere where young black people gather, this is all you here. I'm not saying white kids are a bunch of angels, but my experience has been that they rarely conduct themselves like this. So I'm not surprised by these findings. This is what we are creating in America today with our entitlement society and no personal responsibility for one's conduct or actions.

I was told of the problems these schools have and also about the teachers that cared for the students. There are certainly bright spots at these schools. I know some good friends of mine who teach at Central here in Little Rock. Students have left private schools in Little Rock to take more advanced classes there that were not offered at the smaller private schools.

The fact remains that overall public school funding has risen dramatically the last 40 years and test scores have fallen. Scores has risen at private schools.

Inner city kids deserve the opportunity to have the better opportunity private schools can offer when competition is in place. Chili and many other countries are already reaping the benefits of the school voucher system.

Of course, larock72 or "regarder??", or whichever wizard is doin' all this apologizing, left out the apology about the kidnapping, and imprisonment, murder and brutality, forced immigration and enslavement which began all of this misery which both races now endure, without which, all this fake and hateful "apologizing" would not be necessary.

It has always astounded me that we all seem so surprised when those we have actively and openly hated, turn around and hate us back. larock just goes to prove how much more that we have left to endure.

1). refuse entrance to any child without appeal.
2). special education classes or teachers not required.
3). not required to have a state-approved scholastic program.
4). dismiss students for any reason.
5). do not have to have certified teachers.

Failing that, then the next course of action:
1). on the first day of every new school year, have an assembly for all high school students and hand out high school diplomas to everyone.
2). announce that beginning the next day all students serious about learning and obtaining a high school education please show up the next day. Those there for any other reasons are not to attend the rest of the semester.
3). inform judges the schools will not accept students the courts have mandated to be returned to the public schools for obvious reasons.

Marvelous changes will be noted on public school campuses.

Please do go on and on now about how schools are failing. And don't say I'm blaming parents. I'm not. Parenting is a huge challenge under ideal circumstances. Some people get dealt a bad hand. Others hit the jackpot. You guys are the type to kick a man when he's down so you can feel better about yourself. Sad. Tacky. And sad.

My sweetie is doing just that. She's pretty color blind and loves all her 3rd graders. She's a volunteer assistant (2x weekly) at a school which is 70% minority. With two working parents at low-wage jobs many students aren't well prepared for school but that doesn't keep inspired teachers from trying. The students who don't have money for essentials sweetie buys them what they need.

How's about you Saline? Ever contributed to students' essentials? Or is reading Milton your only virtue other than attempting to control women's bodies?

It appears the data (not clearly indicated in the article here, but discussed in the report and documented in many other national studies over the decades) reflects a problem with how disciplinary policies are applied by teachers and administrators. For instance, if two students are talking in class, is one student verbally reprimanded by the teacher while another student receives a written reprimand with referral to the principal which may result in disciplinary action in form of removal from class/school? If so, the failure to discipline in fair and impartial manner requires addressing.

My observations are that the whites with "other" hatred have pretty well accepted the fact that they are losers and then project their selfhatred outward onto some other group. They have no excuse for not being successful, given their opportunities. So their failure can't LOGICALLY be blamed on anything but themselves.

They add credence to that observation when they claim a known disadvantaged class is indeed advantaged.

In the current circumstances an angry white Christian male in America that claims to be discriminated against is proof of that.

The only way their small mind can find to comfort itself with not being the lowest is to find another group that they can claim to themselves to be superior to. Not by action but by birth.

A book I would recommend reading is "Guns Germs and Steel". It lays out very convincingly why and how humans advanced from clans to tribes to chieftans and on to city states and empires. Why Spain sent ships to conquer Central America and not the other way around.

It also points out why an area progressed and why another didn't YET. By yet I refer to China having 40,000 years of homo sapiens and the Americas 12,000 at most. Yet China was not 28,000 years more advanced in 1492.

Funny 99% (not scientifically documented) of all Rebel flags are on beatup pickup truck front plates or collapsing trailer homes. Why do you think that is?

There are more than a few Innuits and Aleuts so he would probably get his hate on for them before long. There's nowhere he can send them though. Our Native American brothers and sisters could feel the same way about us and wish we would go back to Europe or wherever we came from. They don't seem to feel that way though

I'm thinking he must be really old because it takes a long time to work up that much bile. It also takes a long time to cram that many lies into your brain. He must be a miserable human being. Hate eats away at you. He'll be gone soon and probably not mourned much.

I don't even know what a race traitor is since there is really only one race. Our blood and organs are interchangeable for transfusions and transplants. I don't even think white is the best color since it ages badly compared to my chocolate to ebony hued friends in CA and a few here in NWA. It's also more skin cancer prone.

And white skin gives just a few of us really, really bad attitudes. His white skin is probably the only thing he's got going for him.

I can speed all over town doing 50 in a 30 with no fear of being pulled over. (Try THAT all you nonwhites)

I am a graduate of Little Rock Central High and I got an excellent education and went straight to college without a single remedial course.

Since I don't buy hookers or sell drugs late at night in a few pockets of lawlessness I have no fear and only carry a gun while in 99% white Searcy County to run off a couple drunk teens at my far gate at my weekend home.

Our neighborhood goes to a City Board meeting and demands action and gets it. Once to halt a business being run from a neighbor's residence, and once to get the city to demolish a house that was abandonned and became a hazzard.

I can go apply for virtually any job that interests me and feel confident that if I don't get it, some other white guy will.

Yeah Pulaski County guy, it is tough as hell being white in Little Rock.
