Librarians’ is a noble profession. If you are looking for money there are many other places
to look at. Many may rate this profession as worst.. but its important as a working Librarian,
he/ she should not to be looking low at this profession. Ours is a supporting role and we are
here to build other professions. If one of your user grows, your work is done.

What are Arkansans doing around the world? I would like to add "What have some Arkansans done in Texas?"
Though, now Deceased: The late, Dr. Bernice E. Wesley
Moland, was the FIRST Black lady (Educator) in Killeen, TX to serve as SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE SUPERINTENDENT OF KILLEEN IND. SCHOOL DISTRICT.
(She earned a Doctorate in Education from Baylor Univ., Masters from TX St, and Bachelor's from ARKANSAS AM&N)(Now, Univ. of AR at Pine Bluff, AR).

She worked her way up from teacher, to facilitator, assistant principal, principal, then SP. ASST. TO THE SUPT. The district is next to the largest military base FT Hood, TX. Her thesis was "The Selection of Minority Administrators (or Principals) in the State of Texas" (will verify the exact wording). One thing she help start was a church (one of the founding members), and a clothes closet which still serves people in Killeen, TX. Though deceased some of her work is being continued. She was originally from Twin Groves, AR (Previously known as Damascus, AR).
The students from the school district, eventually, of course go everywhere in the world. So after about 30 years of service, one can imagine how many lives were touched.

Honestly.....I'm finding out that the best thing on earth is realizing after going on 3 decades of honest screw ups, confusion, misdirection-total lack of direction and personal human failures as a parent...somehow mag and I have raised the best 2 people on earth.

A couple of things that happened yesterday on the kid front left me in tears last night....tears of disbelief and joy in the realization that I'm not crazy....our 2 girls are wonderful human beings. Don't know if they'll ever make much money but their 100% heading off in the right direction with great minds and pure hearts and amazing skill sets..if that's the way to put it.

I don't much care what happens to me in the future, the torch has been passed and by Allah, it's a much improved couple of torches too. For the first time I realize I should drop all the petty stuff and wake up each morning just to see what the girls come up with today and tomorrow and the next day!

OK.....I'm properly embarrassed by my own gushing. Resume normal activities...

Congratulation, Max, it shows you and the judge raised the kids right. I agree with mountaingirl that the next generation, aside from a few of the locals, appear to have their heads on straight.

Congratulations to Martha. You and the judge should be very proud.
I have a lot of faith in this younger generation. I think they will get a lot of things right that we didn't accomplish.

Congratulations, Max. I too am especially proud of a granddaughter who is a peace corp volunteer in St. Vincent (Caribbean). Her degree is in fabrics and fashion, instead she is teaching the 3 R's, although she used her connections to acquire donated sewing machines and her students learn that craft as well.
