next time you're on Asher and looking for catfish, head down Roosevelt to Lassis Inn! best in town.

yeah, when I was in high school Geyer Springs had a little bit of everything. hee, when I was a little kid I would drag the family to Western Sizzlin and Bonanza, both on Geyer, or Casa Bonita over on University, when it was my turn to pick the "fancy" restaurant. my poor dad tried to teach me better via Sir Loin's Inn or Cajun's, but they didn't have trays that you got to carry yourself!

Very true. Eliella is authentic - don't go looking for cheese dip either. Mexican food made fresh, Mexican beer and a very friendly staff. And it is right next to the Kum & Go at Baseline and Chicot. That Kum & Go (any of them actually) has also been a revelation in this town. A convenience store with decent food choices all day, good coffee and the staff at every location excels in customer service unlike most of their competition in this town.

http://www.arktimes.com/arkansas/cheap-aut…

Very good tacos, excellent service, cheap beer. And better than that other taco place with the "L's" in the name.

I've eaten at Sharks in North Little Rock and was shocked to learn it is part of chain. It's shabby and nondescript and housed in a former Taco Bell or Wendy's or something. I assumed it was local effort. Anyway, I've found the food decent if pretty bland. Nothing special, but I've been several times. It's a change of pace from fast-food burgers.

I can't believe that place is still open. I also work in SW LR and have for going on 17 years now. I tried Sharks with a co-worker 4 or 5 years ago - the service was terrible then but worse was the size of the roaches I saw behind the counter after I had already placed and paid for my order. It is a real shame - so many people live and work in that part of town but the number of good places to eat has dwindled. We often find ourselves driving all the way downtown or out to Bryant at lunchtime. The stretch along Geyer Springs where Sharks is located once hosted a Schlotzky's, a Mazzio's, a Pizza Hut, a Backyard Burger (where Sharks is now), a Dixie Cafe. All gone. Most recently there was a great place called the Rice House in an old Captain D's at Geyer and Baseline. It is also gone. There are still highlights - Gino's Full Belly Deli, Eleiella's, Sim's, HB's come to mind but the choices have certainly dwindled with the years.
