I think people need to set back and relax. Dr. Militon obviously was not in fault from his previous positions and hiring practices. He was exonerated by those boards. So why are people bringing up these issues that were investigated and found o.k by others. We must not buy into the negative spin that the media does to sell papers and etc.. viewers. I too have been smeared by the news etc on malicious lies that were not true but yet its on the net for all to take and run in a negative effect. Dr. Milton has several years of proven student achievement in his previous districts. So he or she who is without sin throw the first stone. Lets be fair and let the process take care of its self.

Actually your facts are incorrect Laura. The personnel department of Springfield Public Schools District 186 hired the teacher. She was endorsed to teach Middle School not elementary level. Instead of blaming one person, we should look at school districts functioning as a "whole." Without one, the other does not work....We can't blame one person for the actions of any particular school district. The personnel department is responsible for reviewing & ensuring teachers that are hired are endorsed in the particular areas they are going to be teaching in. We should be looking there first.

Let the records speak for themselves, all I know is..we are happy he's leaving here. I can verify one thing, he hired a teacher for high school, she was only supposed to teach elementary, anyways, she's in jail now for having "inapropriate relations"
with studentS. THIS IS FACT

If our two worst board members, Curry and Nellums, support Milton, there's going to be trouble.

Nellums especially, has a long history of upsetting and juvenile acts. Among them being investigated by the district attorney for blackmailing a school board member in the Pulaski County district. He is now being sued by said board member. He shouldn't even be on any board. Of course he's most likely planning a run for a state office at some point.

Curry is just a hot mess.

I have attempted to run down info on the other three. Doesn't seem to be much controversy. Unlike Milton. Suggs has an interesting history. Has turned middle schools around. Might be a good choice.
