FWIW, the judges haven't gotten a raise in at least five years, and no state employee has gotten a COLA increase in at least four. (Or at least those of us in the court system haven't. I'm sure the UAMS docs have.)

FYI Max's wife gets an automatic 3% pay increase every July no matter what.
I have no problem with all of the positions listed getting a pay raise. When college administrators make 250k and up, when public school system superintendents make 200k and up, when commissioners make over 150k. I dang sure want somebody who is qualified making decisions about child custody, guilt or innocence, protecting constitutional rights, determining the best interest of a child. All of those things that judges do are equally if not more important and affect people directly than many of the higher paying positions on the state payroll.

The Courts are not revenue generators. We should privatize them and then cut taxes.

Some private company could pay like $10 per case closed and then that private company would clear the backlog in a week.

Then we wouldn't need as many clerks and such since the backlog would be gone, cut them loose for a job greeting at Workmart.

That way we could have enough money to properly fund forced prayer day care.

Did you notice the top guy gets $4K and the rest get $2K.. and the lower ranking clerks and assistants won't even get that! The state needs to reverse those numbers or just do a flat $1200-$2400 per person for everyone!
