Which year did the Republicans gain the most seats in the Ark General Assembly?

      Elwood,

Even if Beebe has his veto overridden, he will have made an important and essential point. It's important to stand up to oppression and demagoguery, even if you are in the end to powerless to change it. Yes, the wheels of power have been turning slowly but surely for many years, but Beebe alone has the power to jam a monkey wrench in the machine. If only to make the point and to cause the forces of darkness to have to go back and have a do-over.

It's not Beebe's fault that his veto is nothing more than the power to protest, but he should feel honor- and duty-bound to wield that power.

I have no hope that they can make a responsible decision because we haven't seen one in the 45 days of porn and gun nutterty so far.

Maybe the president should ask the states who are too damn cheap to expand Medicaid to return the borrowed money for Unemployement Comp they they have borrowed from the federal government.

We can help them.”

If you think the Christian Taliban lawmakers in Arkansas give a damn about the disabled, poor, mentally ill. elderly and addicted, then I have some alligator-infested bayou swampland in South Arkansas that I would like to sell you.

At least Beebe could mimic Kasich and let Arkansans know where he stands on Medicaid expansion and the state's most vulnerable citizens. If this is not the time to use his effing bully pulpit, then his last six years as governor have been mostly a waste.

At it is, Beebe's legacy as one of the Arkansas' best chief executives will now be tarnished when the history books shows that he signed dozens of bills that set Arkansas back at least 50 years and will probably push us back into another recession.

And the only thing he will likely have to show for this session is a penny sales tax rebate, (sponsored by a bigoted misogynist religious zealot) that taxpayers will end up paying back in $125 million and change to the Koch brothers and a known corporate Ponzi schemer for 550 jobs - jobs that likely go to Alabama and Mississippi steelworkers.

Might as well called the Beebe "Gov. Waldo" because he is nowhere to be found during the current session, which will certainly go down as the worst in state history.

I applaud the Arkansas legislature for not ignoring the least among us in this state. The best way to help the most vulnerable -- proven over and over here by the statistics coming out of Saline County and from NRA members -- is to arm them, and arm them well.

With their focus on increasing gun ownership as a way of preparing ourselves to leave the Union, minimizing the taxes taken from us to provide health care for those who are not worth enough to deserve it, and restricting birth control per the wishes of the Pope, the Arkansas legislature truly demonstrates the type of leadership we need on the national level.
