Thanks, Spunkrat, for conjuring up in my mind an invention that just might warrant a patent:

"My Double Secret Weapon": combination pistol and butt-plug -- Especially for Men, formed with a flexible, fleshlike tube (in your choice of pinkish white or black) connecting the butt plug and the pistol grip, designed to be worn by the discerning manly man discreetly under his clothing, obviating the need for a shoulder holster as the flexible tube fits snugly against even the largest body sizes. A special vibrator feature in the butt plug activates with only a few strokes of the pistol's barrel. Will appeal to that man in your life with a (soon-to-be-secret) concealed weapon permit, and who wishes to keep his anal fetish a secret. Complies with NRA standards for assholes and is suitable for wearing in fundamentalist churches across Arkansas.

I am really looking forward to when people are able to take guns with them nearly everywhere. Can't wait to feel my warm gun strapped on...strapped on...a strap on...

I can't wait until I can strap one on for Jesus. I mean, clearly God isn't capable of defending churches, and thank goodness the gun nuts have begun to realize that their "fairy in the sky" can't protect them. From there it is a quick slide right into atheism. Whoever thought that gun ownership could erode religious belief in Arkansas? They have lost faith.

It will be interesting when we discover that crime probabaly won't go away. Deaths will almost certainly increase. But Jesus will be there when you get shot or shot at, unless you don't have faith in Jesus...but wait, you've got your gun. Who needs faith in the lord?
Hopefully Beebe will veto King's Voter ID legislation, simply to let black people know he doesn't stand with racist Tea Party lawmakers like King.

If Beebe and other Democrats don't know, here's Arkansas legacy of racism at the voting poll that Sid McMath fought against.

"Michael Pierce detailed the huge struggle that McMath faced as he worked with others to abolish the poll tax. As a history professor at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, Pierce was able to give a detailed recounting of the political atmosphere with which McMath was dealt. Pierce said that McMath knew that “the only hope to bring change to Arkansas was to increase the number of voters.

"By combining what Daisy Bates called the “McMath Machine,” McMath was able to work with other members in the community to ensure that the people who could not buy their tax would be able to vote. He worked closely with labor unions and was able to bring the working class across racial lines.

"In 1965, McMath and his supporters saw the appeal of the poll tax, which was written in the 24th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and outlawed the use of poll taxes in federal elections. The time was seized to rewrite a better system in Arkansas. Pierce said McMath was “more so than any other politician responsible for the high number of African American voters in Arkansas.”

Maybe some of the reporters and stupid-ass columnist like Tolbert writing about this should do some research to give some real context to this story, and stop repeating GOP talking points as truth.
How many times has Maloch sided up with criminals? Maybe someone should remind the Magnolia senator that it was another Columbia County native, Gov. Sid McMath, who championed anti-lynching bill and a proposal to abolish the poll tax but could not persuade the legislature to enact the legislation.

Now Maloch's legacy will be that he helped racists Tea Party Taliban lawmakers to establish a new poll tax for blacks and minorities, something that would make McMath roll over in his grave.

Will be glad to see term limits send this coward back to Shreveport where he belongs.
Griz, I get so tired of how the GOP treats and talks toward women, especially those pregnant. That's one of the most dangerous times for a female there is. If the pregnancy and childbirth doesn't kill you, the father or another female wanting a fetus might! In the time I took to type that, two women died in the world as a result of pregnancy/childbirth. In the next 5 minutes, 5 more will too. In actually, an abortion is self-defense. The pro-liars would never grasp that though.

What better symbol of the economic divide between the owners of the Repug legislators and the people the legislators have sworn to defend? Rather than improving the lives of working people and their families, Hickerson's golf cart bill caters to the petty whims of the wealthy. Prissy Hickerson is the Marie Antoinette of Arkansas -"The poor, let them drive golf carts!" We all know what happened to Marie.

That would help level the playing field with the anti-abortion nuts (some of whom have demonstrated willingness to use deadly force to enforce their religious views)...

As Sen. Chesterfield said, the voter ID requirement is a poll tax. In most states, to acquire the ID, you must present a birth certificate. It costs from $20-$60 to get a birth certificate. Paradoxically, you also must present, in many states, a government ID card in order to obtain the birth certificate. In addition, you have the fee the state demands for the ID card itself. If this isn't a poll tax, what is?

Ok help me here......What is wrong with presenting some sort of photo ID to vote? I vote and show my ID so perhaps I am missing something here.

If this was 50 years ago I guess I could see the suppression issue but I am willing to bet that most folks that are poor and most if not all minorities have some official photo ID.

Am I wrong? Just trying to understand.....
