I say just go ahead and let the poor have them some health care for 3 years, just long enough to find out how much they like it, then just try to take it back.

At the same time all of the unpoor that have first crack at medical care will find out how good it is they will determine they have been paying taxes out the wazoo and this is the first time they have truely benefitted. Then just try to cut them off.

At the same time the middle class that have seen their hard working cousins and siblings that never had health coverage before, even though they worked 2 jobs to get by, have benefitted greatly with Affordable Healthcare Act. Then try to cut it off.

All these groups will see that the world did not collapse as billionaires claimed, and that billionaires did actually get richer.

Then maybe, just maybe, the whole of the 99% sheeple will figure out they have been duped.

Then the Arkansas Republicans will have ticked off so many, (most women - 51% of pop, most blacks - 14% of pop, most hispanics - 12% of pop, plus college students and senior citizens)

Then BAM! Republicans are back to holding their state wide convention in a phone booth with room to spare.

Well I Am the NRA you certainly mirror your favorite organization in every way. My what a sensitive and caring individual, and selfless on top of that. Where ego and monetary gain have no place. I'm sure by now you think you have me labled, but, you really don't have a clue, much the same as that No one Relishes Authority, or is it Natural Resources Angst, maybe Nocturnal Ramadan Association. Oh yea Nationalistic Rifle Abyss. But to be fair, you certainly don't leave any doubt as to what you are thinking. Critically? not so much

      >>Max here at the Times, believe that there's simply no way 75 Republicans in the House will vote for expansion. <

True, there is no way because there's not 75 Republicans in the House. There's only 51.

First, Roland, it would be nice if we had "free market" capitalism but as the steel mill issue shows, there is still those who feel that people are far less important than corporations in which the state ponys up the cash and doesn't get an equity posdition. You can bet the Kochs are protected on their investment!

I agree with Max in that this group of Republicans, obsessed as they are with porn and women's parts and hating on women, can never approve anything that actually helps women since they are over 50% of the population. Too bad the women won't all vote to send these Republican perverts back home to find a real job in 2 years. And we need a recall procedure to give RAPErt a chance to do his "church" work of hating on women somewhere other than the state legislature.

If you can't afford health care, you don't deserve health care.

You can look for charity, but the failure of that mechanism to address the large number of Arkansans without health care simply demonstrates why free-market capitalism is God's favored economic system.

Our legislature, keeping in mind the separation of church and state, relies instead on simple logic, something Democrats aren't good at: When people who have below-average incomes die, the average per-capita income of our state increases.

It is good and right for people with money to have health care and for people without money to either go without medical attention or be motivated (for their children, at least) to get a better paying job.

And puh-leeeese... no comments about the emergency room. The emergency room doesn't dispense chemotherapy, or prostate exams, or baby wellness checks -- for all the reasons listed above.
