Now apply reason and logic and where are you?

HuffPo has a picture of Texas' gift to the political conversation, Ted Cruz, on their front page. He's doubling down on his accusation of commies at Harvard Law. Apparently he has a vivid imagination. While a student there, he imagined Commies and Pinkos and Leftists were under his bed. Oh my!
It is not a flattering picture. He looks mean-spirited. He is Allen West in white-face and just as unhinged. Hopefully Texas will show Cruz the door after one term as Florida did West.
From the looks of his nose he is hitting the sauce heavily like his role-model, "Tail-gunner" Joe McCarthy. Either that or he suffers from rosacea.

I may have to report a missing person here. I can't find Saline anywhere. Yesterday, he challenged a couple of us God-forsaken heathens to answer one of his always provocative questions regarding the meaning of life without the "Man upstairs".

DBI nailed him pretty good yesterday with his answer. I got a late start and left my answer on the morning open line where I knew he'd see it. I responded there because I knew the other page was about to roll over into the archives. Not only did he not show up where I was expecting him, I found out he'd done left another challenge, well, back in the archives. He completely ignored DBI's answers, acting as if they weren't right in front of him and challenged us again to answer his questions.

Well I did answer him and left some questions for HIM to answer--just a little friendly give and take. The only question I couldn't honestly answer were those he keeps bringing up about the movie "Crimes And Misdemeanors". Today I watched the movie. (Everything I do, I do for you), Saline. Always liked that song.

But I digress. My ego would like to think he's hiding from me but I'm sure he's busy. Maybe, he's got a little all-day baptism/fundraiser thing going on today.

I hope everybody will pardon my little self-indulgence here and I won't bore you with my further responses to Saline. If he ever shows up again... Saline, Saline....

Iowa gov Barnstad says no to Affordable Health Care Act. Barnstad says Iowa is doing it themselves.

Barnstad is happy with the program he set up that ONLY HAS TWO HOSPITALS PARTICIPATING!!!!

Whole state of Iowa, and there are only 2 HOSPITALS?

In Iowa if you aren't in the lucky sperm club you better be in the lucky ZIP Code club.

After a couple episodes with my mother in the hospital in Little Rock over the last couple years, and that was with dad and 3 of us married offspring living in town.

Family is critical!

Doctors buzz in and out and can't be consulted unless you are standing there when they run through.

Coordinating care is a cross between the mirror fun house and a corn maze.

Continuity of care is a challenge since nurse's work schedules are random at best. On a couple days then off for some extended period.

And the patient is sedated and can't stop mistakes. I show up to visit and an orderly is rolling mom off for dialysis. YOU'RE WHAT? Oops, wrong floor! Mom had COPD.

I expect someone would have caught it before they started the procedure, but not if the mistake was to administer cumidin to an easy bleeder though.

It is a severe hardship to oversee care from even a small distance. I saw the family of other patients sleeping in their cars in the parking lot. Unlucky Zip Code club, they lived in Camden.

To repeat, Barnstad is happy with the program he set up with 2 HOSPITALS FOR THE WHOLE STATE!

Welcome to Republican Bizarro World!

The DJIA hit 14,000 yesterday up slightly from March 2, 2009 when it was 6626. I'm sure someone will find a way to make it a failure of that Kenyan guy. All I know is that my retirement nest-egg now allows me to buy fresh, not day-old, bread.
http://www.wolton.net/ also has a stock market clock.

eLwood, the question in some of the Tea Pot run states is whether people failed to keep up their voter registration or we had more of the caging type of work by the Rovian stooges in the Republican run (?) states. Wow, if the Tea Party actually ran a business like they are trying to run a state, they would be bankrupt and the banks would own their houses, cars, and first-borne. They haven't had an original non-ALEC idea yet for the 45 days they have wasted so far in their porn-laden bills and gun fetishes.

Now that the NRA has got their money's worth, would they actually do the job they were elected to do. NONE ran on a program to hate women and rape them if they become pregnant but just like the US House, Republicans have a short memory span since that bunch of nuts elected for "jobs, jobs, jobs" also spent a year intruding into bedrooms and concerns sex.

Are all Republicabns sec perverts??? Can we make RAPErt register as one?

"TOO FAT TO VOTE"

Greg Palast explains the latest southern Jimmie Crow approaches which thwart the intent of Voting Rights Act of 1965, an Act Martin Luther King, Jr gave his life for while he takes a shot at the shallowness and lazy-minded analysis of the NYT. All this for SCOTUS upcoming decision on whether to toss out "pre-clearance" rules of the Act.

"And Oddly, despite a hot, hot Presidential contest with an African-American candidate, by mid-May 2012, the Census Bureau reported that the number of African-Americans registered declined by over one million. Hispanic names on voter rolls fell, too, despite massive registration drives. A big decline in voters of colour was reported in the South's huge swing state, Florida.

So, overall voter turnout fell short. But the reason, according to the Pew expert featured in the Times, is that, "States in the Deep South with high obesity problems seem to be having a problem getting people to the polling place."
