Joel,
Yes, I have had the crab cakes at Vieux Carre several years ago and thought they were solid. I need to go back and give them another try since it's quite a while since I've been there. I often over look going here and I just don't make it to Hillcrest enough for whatever reason.

I have to agree with jenniferb. The original tapas menu, especially the tapas happy hour, is still my favorite iteration of their menu. Michael, you missed the highest water mark but if it is done for improved consistency that will be a good thing.

Raven, have you been to Vieux Carre? David's crab cakes are my favorite in town - Flavorful with minimal filler. The CC Benedict is my favorite brunch dish in town.

The Cuban-fusion menu was always a promise unkept; not very good food. This looks like an easier menu to execute, but nothing here makes me want to try the place again.

I'm from Baltimore and I'm not sure what I think about The Big in Baltimore crab cake tacos, since AR fails normally at making real crab cakes. The menu overall sounds intriguing. It's been a while since I have dined at then called Rhumba.
